How many times in a day do you do the dishes?

I am having to do dishes once a day and sometimes twice it’s because my elderly family members keep using a tone of utensils, mugs and glasses in one day. How can I gently remind them that they should use one or two coffee mug for the day or glass that they took earlier for water instead of taking a new one each time. They use at least over 15 glasses and mugs in one day and several forks, spoons and knives every day which keeps filling up my dishwasher in half a day. It’s really hard when I go to cook meals and my cutting knives are all used up.

Tell them to use one cup repeatedly until they do. I do the dishes once a day, maybe once every other day if I am doing light cooking and I know the dishes can be cleaned in a minute or so the next day

How many people are you talking about using the 15 glasses first of all?

I wash dishes several times a day when my grandkids are here.

I like to wash them as I finish using them. Drink coffee, finish, wash out the cup and spoon. Only time there is one big wash up then is dinner time. And I usually clean up as I am cooking too.

I will say that in an average day, I will use 2 mugs and at last 3 glasses on my own, so depending on how many people the OP is talking about , 15 is not a huge number.

My dishwasher prefers to be full. I am especially fond of cookies.

I typically do the dishes once per day, and I am the dishwasher.

I do them because I like them to be clean enough to eat off of when they’re done.

A few, as we use them, I do not like dishwashers, and like the sink free of dishes. I wash , dry put up right then…

After each meal , no dishwashers here, but you wouldnt leave dirty dishes around during a hot summer.

When I’m done eating, I bring the dishes outside and let the raccoons lick them clean.

I load the dishwasher throughout the day and then run it before I go to bed.

My household is half the time just me and my spouse and the other half the time adds my daughter and two grandkids.

When just me and hubby, the dirties are loaded in the dishwasher as used and run after dinner.

When it’s the five of us, the dishes pile up in the sink during the day but loaded and washed after dinner.

I have no problem with there being dirty dishes piling up in my sink. If anyone else in the house is bothered, they are free to take care of it. I have other things in my life that are more important than some dirty dishes in a sink…like about anything being of higher priority! 🤣

The very concept of doig dishes more than once a day is making my male mind spin . . .

Why would anyone do them every day?
🤔

If you have to do that, I think you need more dishes . . .

(then again, I"m pretty much not allowed in the kitchen [unless I’m repairing something])

At home, alone, I wash each cup or bowl I use immediately after use. When I’m at my mom’s house helping her during the day, I wash a sink-full of dishes once a day. If my sister goes on a cooking spree later at night, sometimes she will wash the pots and pans she uses herself, and other times she leaves them for me to wash the next day. I never run the dishwasher at either house, just wash them by hand.
