How many times in a day do you do the dishes?

@christofirst, I have a dishwasher and never use it. The only reason I have it is because it came with the house. It is probably 30 years old. My husband wants to get a new one and I tell him to wait until we are ready to sell the house and then buy one, because I won’t use it.

It “crazes” dishes to wash them in there. My son: “What? Do you want to keep them forever?” As a matter of fact, I do!

P.S. No one uses the dishwasher.

I actually keep a small fireproof safe with my important documents and some emergency cash in the never-used dishwasher at my condo. I figure any thieves who might enter my condo when I’m away will not likely look in there.

I just leave my dishes in the sink along with hubby’s. When he’s ready, he loads the dishwater and runs it. There are just the two of us. No big deal.

I have help like this…though mines a bit bigger…

You might consider boxing up some glasses to encourage reusing a glass a few times. Sounds like the others in the house take some things for granted.

Oh, I grew up in a house with a less-than-functional dishwasher, which was used for storage of pots & pans and even pantry items in its old age. (I expect my brother and his wife still use it in that way?)

But the story of the dishwasher is what always makes me smile – My parents produced us 5 children in 6 years. Since my mother was so often caught up seeing to the needs of us little ones, my father usually wound up doing the dishes. He also had a 50~60 minute commute to work, and those Westinghouse radio ads sounded pretty good to him.

So he bought a dishwasher for Mother’s Day! 😂

Almost as good as a vacuum for Christmas! 😱
my wife actually asked for a vacuum for her birthday this year.

And now it’s waiting for me to figure out how to return it to sears for warranty replacement . . .
