How Many Women are Housewives? And why?

My mother stayed home with us kids (there are 5 of us), and I really appreciated. I hope one day that my husband and I can provide the same type of availability that my mother did.

Except, we are throwing a wrench in the entire situation, and my husband will be the stay at home parent one day instead of myself. I have an incredible career outside the home, and I am quickly moving up a very tall corporate ladder with a huge Fortune 100 Company.

Nathan on the other hand wants to be a writer and loves the idea of being a stay at home dad. It is quite wonderful to have someone who is supportive of my career and knows what he wants in the future. He laughs when people make jokes about it, but he knows that God has chosen him to be the keeper of our home.

When we were going through Pre-Caana it was funny to hear people’s responses to our unusual decision, but it will work for us.

I totally agree that homemaking is a career. What a good way to look at it. I’m way busier when I’ve been home for many more hours than I ever was at work.

My mom was home with me when I was little and I have the BEST memories of those times! When it came time to go to school, I did not want to go at all. I wanted to be home w/my mom and I never stopped wanting to be home. lol.
