How much do you love Our Blessed Mother?

Dear Mark,

Thanks again for your reply. It was an encouragement to read. I think God encourages us through others to help us keep “running the race” and “fighting the good fight” as evil in the world grows.

We need especially to do what we can to rekindle the Fire of God’s Love for Mary that has been in the Church for centuries. Jesus loved and honored His Mother on earth and continues to love and honor her now in heaven. The saints followed Jesus and heard deeply Jesus’ words: “Behold your Mother”. I believe Jesus wants us all to “Behold” His Love in Mary for us; and open ourselves to receive Her Love united to His. We can never thank Him enough for Mary. She so truly is our Mother and Model.

The evil one hates Mary (cf Gen. 3:15) but we can pray for Grace to be like St.Therese in loving Mary with Great Love. I can’t remember exactly where I read that St. Therese wanted to be “great-souled” – that seems a good expression of how, by God’s Grace we are called to be like all the saints who know Mary as Mother and Model.

Please let us pray for one another, for the Church and for all those in most need of God’s Mercy, always through Mary.

Dear Babinicz,

Doubts can be opportunities to pray for more grace. Ask the Lord to give you the light of His grace to “Behold Your Mother” as Jesus told John and all of us from His Cross.

Mary is united with God in the Perfection of Charity and just as she “protected” Jesus in her womb, by the power of God, and by His Love, so by that same power of God and her sharing in His Love, she “protects us”. Her intercessory prayer is a sign of her great love for us, which God gave to her.

We can “Behold” Mary with the eyes of faith as we read the Gospel. In the Gospel of John for instance, Mary told Jesus the couple at their wedding in Cana had no wine. Of course Jesus knew their need just as He knows all our needs but when Mary intercedes He delights in granting her requests.

Immaculately conceived, Mary’s Will has always been one with God’s Will, and so Mary wants what He wants for us. She has no power outside of His, but she is united with Him more closely than any human person could be.

Hope that helps a bit.

Keep praying for Grace for Jesus told us in the Gospel of John, that without Him we can do nothing. St. Therese of Lisieux wisely said: “Everything is Grace”. 🙂
