Catholics and Eastern Orthodox compared to Protestants.

Many claim, and few refute this, that Catholics do not generally read the Bible much while Protestants, especially Evangelicals, have a reputation for reading it much more and regularly.

Maybe three times a week I’ll have a proper read of a few chapters, though most days I’ll read a few verses here and there

Now to be fair, anti-Catholics claim the Church actively discourages reading the Bible and rather only listening to the Priest for guidance. By the way, my friends, of whom almost all are protestant, have to dust their Bibles off to take them to Church.

I read the Bible daily. I am now reading 1 Maccabees and will read 2 Maccabees. I love reading the Bible!

I am constantly in the process of reading through the bible, cover to cover. Additionally, I try to read the mass readings for the day and the proverb for the day (there are 31 proverbs, so I go through them every month).
