I may have grown accustomed to eating 3500 calories a day. Maybe 4000.Because 2000-2500 calories is a day’s worth of food. Unless your a super athlete you should not be eating more than this daily or that’s most likely gluttony.
Therefore we can presume we have to eat under 2000-2500 calories.

Thé keyword in your post is average. Some need more, some need less. A growing teen has a voracious appetite. An elderly person, much less. They are both part of your « average ».Based on health and nutrition education.
