Maybe like 3 hours per week, usually not more, almost always less…

Eamon

A few hours a day although I do not watch it. Mostly, my family members will have it on, and I will glance from the computer as I work and take classes solely online. Thanks and God Bless.

For my taste too much. Since my wife and I live in an appartment, it is really difficult not to hear the TV. She is the TV freak, and I am not. I personally do not watch it too much - we do not have the cable and regular channels have nothing of interest to offer. But since I have a high speed internet connection, I spend more time on the 'puter than watching the ‘idiot box’. Since I can now watch ETWN on line, listen to my favorite radio on the net, watch footie (aka soccer) games on line, who needs the TV?

All Tv…all the time! 👍

Mon: Still Standing & Everybody Loves Raymond
Tues: American Idol
Wed: Smallville & American Idol & King of Queens
Thurs: Joey & Will & Grace
Friday: Bernie Mac
Sat: Open
Sun: Extreme Home Makeover & Steve Harveys Big Time

In between those shows, and times, I will check in on:

EWTN
Simpsons
Blue Collar Tv
South Park
American Dad
Comedy Central Stand-Up
Leno
Daily Show
Today Show
Good Morning America

I love it all and dont feel sorry one bit for my tv time! 😃
It’s funny to read this post because my wife recently told me that she wouldn’t shed a tear if every TV in our house disappeared. She believes that, with most TV programs on these days, we just waste hours of our finite lives that could otherwise be spent with our families or in school or a library or church, etc. Or even just going outside and getting some fresh air.

It kinda made me feel guilty about my need to watch Smallville. 😦

I live on my own, so I tend to have either the TV or music on pretty much the whole time when I’m at home, even while I’m doing other stuff (computer, housework, etc).

I do at least pray during commercial breaks rather than just sit in front of it like a mullet. 😃

When I am on my own the telly is a big black box, when there are visitors it is on, I do not watch it however.

Too much, sometimes I can’t sleep without it on. I regret this and am trying to reform. A priest once told me that a computer saying fits well here… “GARBAGE IN, GARBAGE OUT”

dad’s TV is on all the time when he is home, and often when he is out, also satellite radio (yankees) always on sports–games, sports commentators and talk shows, whatever, once in a while a movie, the stevens segal, jc van dam type.

my tv - I tivo touched by an angel and watch it in the evening, tivo 2-3 things from ewtn- fr Groeschel, Fr. Trigilio, also Mystery, Poirot. but it usually disappears after a while because I seldom get a chance to actually watch it. will also tivo old movies–sabrina, casablanca. Mr Chips is on there now when I get time.

Hmm, let’s see…

Daily - The 2 or sometimes 3 episodes of CSI on Spike TV (7-8, 8-9, and sometimes 9-10) unless it’s a rerun - finding more reruns now that I’ve been watching them for awhile.
Wednesday - Mythbusters, and I’m checking out Jericho.
Thursday - CSI.

Other things I might watch - Weather Channel, news, Discovery Channel, TLC (While You Were Out), Animal Planet, and the History Channel if something interesting is on.

I usually have the TV on for background noise while doing other things- when I’m home during the day, I’ll watch Dr. Phil if I remember. Otherwise, Thursday nights is Grey’s Anatomy- and thats about it!

LOL, a Grey’s Anatomy fan…
Do you too feel guilty that you want Meredith to pick McDreamy?

Terribly guilty about that- but I have to admit, I felt even guiltier when I saw the hotel scene with McDreamy, Addison, and McSteamy. I was so glad that Addison did that, even as horrible as it was!

Aggh, I can’t believe I’m so addicted to this show. lol

It depends what’s on.There are some days I don’t turn it on at all, sometimes it’s on almost all day.But regurlarly is on around three hours daily.

Cheers,
Aleks.

I gave up cable a couple of years ago and haven’t missed it. One thing I have noticed though, now that I am going through a divorce, is that when the kids go to their dad’s house and watch TV there, they are constantly asking for things they see on commercials. I guess I hadn’t realized what a big influence TV really is. The last two or three years, I have hardly been asked for any toys. When Christmas and birthdays rolled around my kids actually had a hard time thinking of anything that they wanted. Now though I can’t go to the grocery store with out hearing about all of the junk food they want after hearing the commercials. Yikes!

Gee …the last time I had mine on ,had to be about 2 months ago.
I’m always on the net:)

My Daughter is allowed to watch one “Show” a day. She misses some days and often her show is a 30 min one but sometimes it’s a two hour movie. Once in a long time she picks something like Mary Poppins that’s like 3 hours. We don’t have cable and can’t pick up anny TV stations even with an antenna. We ar emoving though so that might change.

My tv is usually on all day long, though I may not be sitting in front of it the whole time or I may not even be home. Since I live alone, I feel more comfortable hearing voices and sounds from the tv when I come home or am doing hw or whatever. When I am not here or if I have company over, I don’t watch it as much, but as of right now I am alone in this big city until I graduate from college, so I tend to watch tv alot.

I am a little bit bummed right now, though, because my apartment complex is under contract with one small cable company that only offers Standard or Basic cable and I cannot get Satellite because my balcony faces due north and there is no access to the southern sky from where I am. I know I don’t really need digital cable, but when I lived at my previous apartment complex, I got very comfortable with it and now I really miss it, and this is most likely because I tend to have alot more time on my hands this quarter since I only have to go to school 2 days a week (4 classes, 2 per day) and I don’t work because my parents have chosen to help me out financially until I graduate. Because of this I REALLY look forward to my breaks so I can get outta here and visit my family or my boyfriend…I count down the days…I don’t like being alone, but I have no choice right now until 2008. Anyways, there are like 10 channels that I liked to watch that I can only get with digital and and cannot get with this…Fox News Channel is one of them…but of course I get CNN and all the other liberal news channels…at least there is a bright side because luckily I get EWTN. If I didn’t have that channel, I don’t know what I would do. At least I have lots of dvds I can watch!
