How much money do I spend on a house?

I have been haunted by the words of Jesus: “It is easier for a camel to go though the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God!” With the extreme poverty people are suffering today, I’m wondering how much is reasonable to spend on a house once I leave my parents’ house, and what is the Catholic Church’s take on it. I understand that we shouldn’t spend more than we need, but house prices are really expensive.
