I am wondering, on average (say excluding Sundays), how much time do you spend a day in prayer?

on a good day about an hour and a half, rosary as I walk around the golf course, LOTH and lectio divina. we just won’t talk about how many good days I actually get. On a day like today and yesterday, I usually get morning prayer in OK (no walking this week, too windy, I will pick up rosary tonight with the chapel group), even if I have to do it online while I am finishing my coffee. but CCD nights, whatever prayer is what we do as a group. We try to incorporate evening prayer whenever possible, or a rosary, even a decade, or like last night, with kids in a circle, catechists praying over them, followed by OF, HM GB. If I make it to daily Mass (usually possible only on Friday for the school Mass) that adds another half hour. I don’t know. not enough, that’s for sure. a lot of times I wake in the middle of the night, and that is usually my cue I need more prayer time. I start with Vigils, Office of Readings, and just quiet meditation (until I fall asleep in the chair).

We’ve been refining family prayer and now do a morning rosary and evening prayers together, plus I try to do set prayers at certain times during the day (my mini version of LOTH), so maybe comes out to about 1 1/2 hours. I would like to fit daily Mass into the schedule, but right now it just doesn’t seem to be possible. Since we opened our Adoration Chapel to every day, I know have a slot of Fridays and that has been really wonderful!

The goal (mine) is continuous prayer and there are a few spiritual excercises to help one get into this habit. But often times I fall short of my goal…and so, I continue to persevere.

Pax Domini sit semper vobiscum.

Usually an hour…but when praying the Rosary or Chaplet…2 hours. During Advent, a little over an hour per day…

But, I do pray throughout the day…I think St Paul said in everything, we should be praying…praying without ceasing. Our lives and actions can serve as prayer. But, do you mean meditative prayer, when we are alone?

I have been using the liturgy of the hours to pray daily. I found a guide on line to follow. chastitysf.com/loh.htm. I am not a religous but they were giving to me as a gift. They are hard to use unless you have a guide. I try to do the morning evening and night prayers that are in it. I have little prayeys that I say through out the day. I also plan to pray the rosary everyday but don’t succeed everyday. I asked to be a prayer warrior and have been praying for those who posted prayer request. My God father told me once that it is difficult to sin if you are praying. Since I am a serious sinner I try to pray as much as I can throughout the day. I find when I get into a habit of prayer, structured prayer especially its easier to keep up and grow in prayer rather than inconsistant once in a while prayer.

Anywhere around 30-45min/day.

Most of it is my nightly iPod Rosary mixed in with random parts of the day to fill the rest of the time.

Being in formation with the BSP and CFP, I try to do 90 minutes a day of prayer, and prayerful reading. I don’t have a TV set, and have had to cut back on time devoted to computer games

Definitely not enough! I say the Rosary daily, and little prayers during the day, prayers for others here at CAF. But I need to incorporate more into my daily life.
