How much time is required for a good confession?

I want very much to be a returned Catholic. I attended Mass last Sunday and noticed in the bulletin that confessions are heard Saturday afternoons for only a 45-minute period. I’m afraid it would take me that long to get started! How do I resolve this problem?
 
When someone has the need to take awhile in confession, it is usually recommended that he or she make an appointment with a priest for confession. I recommend calling the parish and making an appointment with the pastor, letting him know that you have been away from confession for a long time and would like to make a good confession and return to the practice of the faith.
