A) It should be a daily devotion if you’re not distracted by other duties.

B) You pray the rosary in order to be initiated into the mysteries and receive the promises concerning it.

A) Daily, all the 15 traditional mysteries
B) To strengthen faith and fullfill the promises given, praying the rosary

This is merely opinion, and not a requirement ā€œshouldā€].

While it may be a good thing to do in one’s personal devotional life, the rosary is not an official or luturgical prayer of the Church, and it is up to each individual (and their spiritual director, if they have one) as to weather or not they decide to pray it regularly, or at all.

Why must it be all 15 decades? That’s certainly to be commended, but I can barely make it through 5 decades? 🤷 :o

I say the Rosary each and every day – the first two decades I say while I’m having my first cup of coffee – then I say the next two decades when I’m walking around the neighborhood – or sitting and ā€œthinkingā€ what God has done for me – etc.,etc. – then the last decade I save and say when I’m in bed for the night – the last decade I offer to those people who suffer from Parkinson’s Disease (my husband had the disease) and all people who have cancer (a terrible and pain-full disease) – my day wouldn’t be complete without the Rosary!!!

Because it is a good virtue and practice. Some days like yesterday i barely managed to as well, but i try as often as possible during Lent now to pray all 15 mysteries and make the cycle complete. Hopefully i can make it a regular when Lent is done.

I pray the rosary daily.

Why?
-Because our Lady commands us to at Fatima.

-Because, in my old denomination, it was the norm for one to pray in the morning and the evening from a prayer book. The rosary fulfills this for me. I can’t go to sleep until I’ve prayed the Holy Rosary.

How often? As often as we can! (But it’s not a requirement, merely a good devotion.)

Why? Because Mary told us to! šŸ˜‰ Also because it deepens our faith and brings graces.

How long does it take you on average?

I mentioned this in another thread, but I heard an FSSP priest say that one reason to pray the Rosary daily is that it helps in strengthening a person to maintain purity.

As masturbation is one of the more common sins that priests hear, I’d say its worth a try!

As often as possible. Daily is good, but obviously there are many things that are good. I can only speak for myself, but I shoot for 5 decades daily - normally when I get up it’s the first thing I do after a glass of water. I also pray extra decades when I have time such as driving between meetings or during Eucharistic Adoration. I try to go in order ā€œchronologicallyā€ if I pray more than one set of mysteries in a day.

The Rosary does a lot for me. Besides the promises made and graces given therein, it gives me a nice way to contemplate and meditate on the life of Jesus Christ. In my morning prayers I view beautiful depictions of each mystery or read the corresponding Scripture passages before each mystery.

I’m a huge fan and I think I feel it’s like the Blessed Mother is teaching me about her beloved Son. All of my favorite Saints and future saints - St. Padre Pio, Pope John Paul II, and Mother Teresa, were huge proponents of the Rosary.

This message is getting kind of long, but one last thing to share was that although I prayed this prayer since I was a child, it was only as an adult that I started truly meditating on the life of Jesus and gaining much benefit from it (I think). I’m learning from this and trying to focus on the meaning and story of the mysteries in teaching my children about the Rosary.

God bless,
Bryan
