Hi,
The Church does not require a specific number of times that one must go to Confession, but it does require receiving the Eucharist as least once a year. I know of no saints who went only once a year; and they were saints! Obviously, we all need to go oftener than that. A good rule of thumb is to go to Confession once a month all through the year—and oftener if necessary–even if all we have to confess are venial sins.
