How often do we pray without realizing it?!

Something really amazing dawned on me this morning (no pun intended). I woke up and I was half awake half asleep and I didn’t even realize it, but I was saying the Jesus Prayer and Hail Marys…then I thought about it and I realized: how often are our souls praying, or at least trying to, and we don’t realize it!! I showed me the beauty of the human soul and the Spirit.

Any thoughts or similar experiences?

As far as similar experiences, I have awoke and found I had started saying the Rosary, however I doubt that, with me at least, it says anything really positive about my spirit, as I commonly like to say the Rosary first thing and feel uncomfortable with procrastination (which unfortunately, doesn’t mean I don’t procrastinate!). What it does say about me is that I have a preferable habit to some I could have instead. I do know that various saints/tradition have spoken of our guardian angels finishing praying when we fall asleep and, of course, Scripture speaks of our soul praying for us as we need (“groanings” et al) but of course, with our guidance.

I don’t think it’s anything to be worried about or otherwise. Just make sure your consciousness is fully involved in prayer when you are awake. He will then make sure that your unconscious is taken care of.
