Every Sat. evening and Holy Days at our Parish unless we are traveling.

We have two morning masses Monday through Sat am…Sat pm and 4 on Sunday.

stormy

I would love to go daily, but I work 7:00 a.m. -3:30 p.m., so even the early Mass (6:30 a.m.) doesn’t work out. On my days off, I attend morning Mass at my parish.

During Lent, our parish does vesper Masses, so then I can go. I wish parishes did this all year, but I guess it would probably be poorly attended and therefore a poor use of the parish priest’s time and energy. Oh, well.

The only time I attend Mass at another parish is when I am travelling or when I am asked to play piano at another parish. I enjoy visiting other parishes and attending their Masses.

In addition to Sunday (or Sunday vigil), I always go to daily Mass after our men’s group on Friday mornings.

With Friday and Sunday covered, I felt like there was a “hole” sometime around Tuesday or Wednesday. As a new convert like yourself Bbigam, I thought it would be interesting to visit other parishes within about 25 miles. So… every Tuesday I go to a different church for daily mass. I started this in July and so far have visited 14. I have 29 to go (this will take a while). Some of my friends occasionally go along too.

Wow, I’ve heard of the projects to visit other parishes, but I can’t go to that many that often! Aside from my parish, there are 8 parishes in Lexington and 2 in neighboring towns that I’m often in or near for work. Most other parishes are not in a reasonable driving range, or are in the wrong direction for anywhere I normally go. And a few parishes nearby I really don’t want to visit…

On Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Fridays…I try to attend daily if my work schedule will allow. I attend a different parish to do this as it is only 2 blocks from work.

Weds, and then Saturday night or Sunday I attend my local parish, which I prefer so if I’m off work on a weekday I go there too.

All are the NO mass.

I attend weekly. I try to attend the Tridentine mass. The same parish that offers the latin says a couple of the daily hours. Unfortunately there are about 3 other parishes between me and that church so about half the time I go to the NO mass. And every couple months I go to the Byzantine mass.

I’ve gone to almost-daily OF Mass since childhood, with a few notable exceptions over those (many, many) years.

Although my home parish is just a few blocks away, I drive about 7 miles round trip to another church for both Sunday & daily Mass. My parish is comprised of mostly people from another country and culture and I have a hard time understanding the priests, even though the Mass is in English. Their music is also totally led by untrained, untalented volunteer musicians, which I find very distracting as I’ve had a lot of musical training. Not taking away from their willingness to serve…but the results are pretty bad.

I love daily Mass!

Can you attend mass more than once a day? I’m becoming Catholic and wonder if it is allright on Sunday to attend mass on Sunday morning and evening too. I can’t take the Eucharist so I’d assume there is nothing wrong with this. But if I were Catholic already and taking the Eucharist, what are the rules? Can you attend mass multiple times in a day but only take the Eucharist once, at the first mass I would think?

You can attend Mass any number of times a day that you like. The rule for receiving Communion is (for people already in communion with the Church), you can receive once a day under any circumstances (at Mass, at a Communion service, sick at home when a priest comes around to see you, etc.), and a second time only if it is at a Mass that you attend. You cannot receive a third time in a day. (Viaticum for someone in danger of death is always permitted, though.) So on a given day you could receive at two Masses, or at a Communion service and then at a Mass, but not at a Mass and then at a Communion service.

I used to assist at Mass on Sundays (or sometimes Saturdays) only, with the odd holy day thrown in when I remembered.
Starting Lent 2010 our priest introduced Adoration on Fridays from 6-7pm followed by the usual evening Mass.
Now I always go to the Adoration and Mass(and Confession to boot!) on Fridays. I work part time at the moment from 4:30-7:30pm, but I am able to change my hours. (Makes for a late night though.) This is always at an OF Mass – the closest EF is a 45 minute drive (with no parking).
When possible I assist at the EF Mass on Sundays. That depends largely on the weather and the condition of the car that week.
That makes twice per week plus holy days (two extra this past week) as well as Adoration/Confession/Benediction. As well as meetings: We’re starting some formation beginning by studying Lumen Gentium.

Once a week, plus the days of obligation, plus the odd wedding or baptism.

I try to attend Holy days and every week. I have missed mass maybe six times, in last 5yrs or so. Yes daily mass woulod be my ideal but at 40 miles one way it just isn’t feasible.
