I mean, wether just there in front of the Tabernacle or the Monstrance…

My Parish only has adoration on Fridays during the day and since it’s a 25 minute drive, I go when I can. I know that if I lived closer to my church I’d be there daily.

I answered often but just thought I would tell you this. I go to adoration daily because that is where I get the strength to cope with everything else I gotta do with my day.

Archbishop Fulton Sheen made a comittment as a priest to 1 hour daily. He kept that promise for the rest of his life. WOW.

I don’t have a car so I can only go once or twice a month. I’m going this Wednesday though. 🙂 Instead, I pray in front of a crucifix in my room every morning and night. I do what I can.

Yours in the Hearts of Jesus and Mary,
Tony

And what are graces? I’ve heard people say that having perepetual adoration brings and/or casues more GRACES in the parish… but what is that? What does that mean?

I’ve never heard about more graces to the parish, but I do feel more graces coming to me. Now, I believe that the graces have been from more than just Adoration since I also pray the Rosary and the Divine Mercy. However, I’ve noticed how my day differs from the regular days when I’ve been to adoration (and weekday Mass).

Since I’ve been more devotional I’ve been able to be more prayerful in everyday situations, I’ve been able to see where I’m going wrong and my life seems more inwardly peaceful. We can’t expect that our life will be calm and peaceful and completely “repaired”… we can’t expect that nothing will go wrong, but it seems so much easier now to deal with what comes up. Those are SOME of the actions of grace in my own life.

Never - how can that be significant compared to receiving the Eucharist?

pat, does that mean that you refuse to pray the Hail Mary because it doesn’t compare to the “Our Father”?

It seems to me that receiving the Eucharist is something Christ does for US, and adoring the Eucharist is something we do for Christ wouldn’t you think?

Just wondering how you have come to compare one with the other…

I try to make it every first friday for Exposition, but try to pop into church as often as I can at other times. I frequently pass in front of our church -Tabernacle can be seen from the street. One morning Father was walking his dogs and as I pulled to the side of the street., he approached my car. He thought I was pulling up to speak to him. I told him,“Good morning Father, just on my way to work and stopped for a quick 'drive-by adoration!” He smiled.
I hope those glass doors never get replaced with something that you can’t see through. Those drive-by adorations made going to work a lot easier on more than one occassion when I just didn’t have the time to go in.

I think its pretty clear - taking the body of Christ and consuming it versus being in its presence. How can you possibly be more in the presence than to receive it and make it part of you? And if God is everywhere, why think that praying is a certain place is more significant than praying anywhere else?

Our parish has Perpetual Adoration, thanks be to God. I have the most beautiful honor and privilege and being in the Presence of our Lord for 1 hour every week and also can visit at any time.

Adoration is completing different than receiving the Eucharist. Being in the Presence of Jesus Christ in a quiet chapel and meditating on His Divine Mercy, or His Passion, or the Sorrows of Our Mother, giving Thanks to Him for all He has done for me. “Will you not watch with me for one hour?” he asked Peter and John in the Garden of Gethsemane.

Understanding that the Blessed Sacrament is the true presence, Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ is what makes Adoration very different than experiencing God’s handiwork in nature.

Reposed in the Tabernacle, every day. Exposed in the Monstrance, once a week.
