How often do you pray the rosary? Please vote in my poll.
Ah okay.Lately I´ve been praying the 20 mysteries every week. So I usually pray a 5 mystery set 4 days a week.
While in the process of becoming Catholic ....... I began to experience the need to pray the Rosary.
At first, I had difficulties doing so, on my own. :o
BTW ........ some good relationships, also formed in our 'group'. :)Yes, I joined a group called the Legion of Mary once. I wasn’t able to pray the rosary every day so I quit the group. I have a hard time praying it every day. I guess I’m just not that committed to it. If I noticed a significant benefit from praying the rosary every day, I’d join the group again but I honestly don’t notice a significant benefit from praying the rosary every day. I don’t know. Maybe I don’t have enough faith or something.Have you tried joining a Rosary group, at your Church ?
So, I began to ‘sit in’, with our Church’s Rosary group (after morning Mass on weekdays & Saturdays).Code:While in the process of becoming Catholic ....... I began to experience the need to pray the Rosary. At first, I had difficulties doing so, on my own. :o
Very soon … I was joining in.
Now, I am one of the ‘regulars’ there.
On Sundays … I pray it at home. Am happy, that this no longer presents any difficulties, for me. :dancing:

So did I, which started almost 10 years ago (when there were only 3 sets of Mysteries instead of 4). Something I would do at times is to say prayer intentions at the start of each mystery before the Our Father. Now, I pray it everyday. Sometimes, I might say all 4 sets of Mysteries on a special occasion - which takes 90-120 minutes.Have you tried joining a Rosary group, at your Church ?

Joining the Legion of Mary as an adult was what helped me discern that personal Marian devotions (rosary etc) were NOT for me.Yes, I joined a group called the Legion of Mary once. I started out 10 Hail Mary’s per day by listening to my mother who asked me to do that and she would finish the other 40 Hail Mary’s. Together, we finished the whole Rosary.Yes, I joined a group called the Legion of Mary once. I wasn’t able to pray the rosary every day so I quit the group. I have a hard time praying it every day. Some very good advice here. Remember, too, that ‘missing’ one day doesn’t mean one has to ‘give up’, anymore than ‘blowing’ a diet one day means one can then ‘pig out.’ Maybe you can only get one decade in --say the decade that day rather than think, “If I can’t do the whole thing I won’t do it at all.”
And remember that while no one is mandated to pray the rosary, the prayers are never ‘wasted’, ineffective, or not worthwhile simply because they are not ‘mandated.’

I would like to do that, but since I’m driving I’m concerned about concentration! If I’m to properly meditate on the mysteries, wouldn’t that mean I’d be NOT concentrating as much on the road?Twice a day; on the commute to work and the commute from work. I have it on my iPod now; used to count on my fingers . . .
If you have a choice, then go with the method that helps you more with the meditation. If not, praying is always better than not praying at all.I would like to do that, but since I’m driving I’m concerned about concentration! How about trying 1 little step at a time. There are 5 days a week, you can start saying 1 decade per day. By Friday, you will finish the entire Rosary. I had done that before.I wish I prayed it more. A group of us recite it together before the 9 am Mass on Sundays and I love doing that. I seem to have a really hard time carrying that practice over into my home life. I’ll do it every night for a while, then I’ll get home late from work one night and I’ll be too tired and once I miss once-it’s all over.
I’m going to try it on the way home today instead of listening to the radio. I have JPII reciting it on my iPod, so I could use that.
