I pray many times during the day. I drive for a living, so something might pop into my head and I’ll say a quick prayer. Maybe it’s for someone, or just to ask God to help me through the day.

Pray w/o ceasing. I find that even before I wake up my mind in the first awakenings is starting to go through the Divine Office and other prayers I will say during the day. Does anyone think I’m obsessed with this?🤓

No, you are not obsessed. You are in a good habit!

My prayer life sounds similar to yours. There never seems to be enough time and sometimes I just don’t know what to say. A friend of mine said a prayer can be just a few words and not necessarily one of the traditional prayers.
A prayer life is a good basis for a relationship with God so if nothing else, I ask God to teach me and help me pray. It sounds silly but sometimes it’s best to start with the basics again. 😛

I used to think Muslims had it rough having to pray 5 times a day, but Catholics pray or are encouraged to pray even more often than 5.

More often than not I am likely to forget to say a morning prayer. I usually am in a rush to get to work on time, and I just forget or have not gotten into a habit of saying morning prayers.

Before and after meals, it is also less than a 50-50 chance that I will remember to pray.

Evenings are a little better, except it is far more likely that I will pray while lying in bed than make the effort to pray on my knees,as I usually go to sleep way too late have to get up early each morning.

Overall I’m not a very good example of frequent prayers, except maybe on Sundays or KC meeting nights. It coule be that on average I may not even be matching the 5 times that mormons do.

Some of the saints prayed constantly dawn to dusk. Heaven knows the world needs a lot more praying and a lot less bickering.

What are your prayer habits like ???

Isn’t praying a conversation with God? I pray formally, but not as much as others here have mentioned. I do talk to God throughout the day about anything and everything.
I’m a firm believer than any little thought directed to God is a prayer and He hears it.

I’m currently in RCIA class. The impression I get, mostly from message boards like this, is that you can’t pray too much. The author of this thread mentioned 5 times a day in reference to Muslins and that Catholics endorse praying more than Muslins (5 times a day). I agree with this statement.

I accidently bought Liturgy of the Hours for Advent & Christmas thinking it was a Missal. When I looked at it closely at home, I made the assumption that it must be intended for priests, nuns, etc. Who else would have time to pray that much and watch the clock close enough to get each prayer at the right time?

In the next two months, I have to get a prayer program laid out. I plan to start with morning, evening, meals and the Rosary. There are several other prayers that can be said throughout the day when the thought occurs. A good goal will be The Liturgy of the Hours.

IMHO, I think more think performing acts of charity rather than so much time spent praying would be more appreciated by the good Lord. Both would be great.

I commend you for planning a prayer program. When I first started to take prayer more seriously and started with the Liturgy of the Hours, Rosary, and just some quiet time with the Lord each morning, it made all the difference in my life.

Prayer is the backbone of our life as a Christian. Prayer causes us to receive more out of the Sacraments. Wisdom will increase in your life in ways that you never imagined.

If a small talk with our Lord can may be called a prayer, then I always lose count every day!!! :bowdown2:
