How often do you usually attend weekday Mass (non HDO)?

Prayers for those of you who would like to attend daily Mass but, for whatever reason, can’t. :console:

I attend daily, sometimes more than once a day, as a result of my duties as sacristan. If I were not a sacristan, I would still attend daily but not more than once. Daily Mass is a great blessing in my life, on many levels.

I never serve as sacristan for the Mass I attend on Saturday mornings (different parish; my territorial parish doesn’t have Saturday morning Mass), but am often asked to do the reading.

Same here. Mass is really heaven on earth. Attending Mass everyday is a true blessing. That is the best thing happened to me for losing my job several years ago!!

I would love to go every day. However, I’m terrible with waking up early. I’m not a morning person at all. I can hardly get out of bed before 8:00, Maybe one day soon, I’ll try to undo the damage of my sleep cycle and start getting to 7am Mass every morning.

I had to go to 7am Mass this past Sunday because I had to work (I work 4 Sundays every year) and it was awful.

I volunteer at the Ladies of Charity thrift store on Thursday afternoons so I stop at the Basilica downtown for noon Mass since it’s on my way.

I work in the parish office from 9 to 1 M-Th. We have Mass on W-F at noon. Our pastor states that we can attend Mass on W or Th. I choose to do this on occasion because we can’t all leave the office at the same time. I’m sharing and supporting the office staff. On Friday, my husband has the car most of the time, so I stay at home and do laundry, house cleaning etc. At times, I go on 1st Friday because we have Sacrament of the Sick offered after the Mass.

I started to attend daily Mass during Lent last year. When I was working, I used to attend quite frequently at the downtown Cathedral’s noon Mass, but that stopped when I had children and quit my job. I homeschool 5 children, so I never seemed to manage to get out to Mass by myself. I finally decided to attend the 6:30 am Mass. I’m out the door just as my early risers are getting up, but I just get dressed and leave. Sometimes I take one or two of the little ones with me. Mostly I hope that they stay in bed until I’m gone, so that my husband has to deal with them. 🙂 I drive 15 min to get to Mass, even though there is a church less than 5 minutes away from me. The closer church has a 7am Mass, but I’ve discovered that the 1/2 hour makes the difference between getting out the door and not making it. If I wait, I get caught up in the kids early morning needs and don’t make it out.

I haven’t worked since I got married. Should I need to reenter the work force, daily Mass attendance is the number one thing I would seek to preserve.

Sorry to hear this. I was like that in the beginning. :sad_yes: I first started going to daily Mass (prior to my becoming a sacristan) completely against my will—long story—and I literally dragged myself there. But I persevered, and a year and a half later I can’t imagine skipping it. Are there days when I would rather stay in bed? Many. But I always go, and once in the church I’m invariably happy I didn’t give in to the temptation not to.

If mornings are just too tough for you, however, perhaps you have access to daily Mass in the evenings…?

Again 👍

Our faith journey is a constant striving. My parish does not have daily Mass on Monday and Saturday. I have to get up extra early to go to the other two different parishes on those two days.

Yesterday and today morning temperature was below 10 degrees. Our priest actually congratulates us for making to the morning Mass. Receiving our Lord and having union with Him certainly beats extra time in bed.

More than once a week but now my parish has started a daily TLM at a more manageable time so I plan on going to that more often.

😊 :pshaw:

Ah, another one who jumps through hoops to attend Mass every day. I recognize a kindred spirit when I see one. 🙂

My home parish doesn’t have Saturday morning Mass, so I go to another parish for that. Attending Mass every day is simply part of who I am. I realize, however, that this is not true for everyone. The Lord does not call us all to Him in exactly the same way.

The dedication of those who do make it to Mass under these or similar conditions cannot be denied. However, God does not expect us to risk our well being to attend Mass, even on Sundays. Just because I can make it to the church on an icy day (on foot, no less) doesn’t mean my 91-year-old neighbor who walks with a cane should even try.

No question about that!😃

every single day 🙂

but i’m a seminarian so its required of me 😃
Same thing here.

That said, during the summer months I do continue to go to daily Mass during the week insofar as I can, but usually not Saturday (occasionally the Saturday evening Mass though).
