How often does your priest use the Roman Canon?

How often does your parish priest use The Roman Canon or Eucharistic Prayer I during mass?

My old parish pastor used it every Sunday, and reserved the shorter prayers for weekday masses. My new pastor who has been at my parish for about two years only uses The Roman Canon on holidays and uses Eucharistic Prayers II or III on Sundays.
 
I don’t ever recall him using it .

He uses the 2nd and 3rd Eucharistic Prayers .
 
I only hear Eucharistic Prayer I on special Masses such as Christmas, Palm Sunday, Easter Vigil, Easter Sunday, etc.

My pastor usually uses Eucharistic Prayer II any other time, and my parochial vicar is a tweener; he likes to either use EP II or EP III
 
Do you mean that EPII is not the only one?? 😉

We always get EPII on weekdays. We used to get EPIII on Sundays, but it has been several months since I have heard it. I thought maybe it didn’t get included in the new translation.
 
I heard the corrected translation of it for the first time last night. I normally attend the EF Mass, but this was the Chrism Mass. It was like hearing the silent Canon straight from my 1962 Missal. It seemed rather off without all the multiple crosses made throughout it.
 
I nearly always go to the EF, so, well, there’s not much choice there…

We get the Roman Canon every Sunday and weekday!
 
Almost never! Last time I heard the Canon was on Christmas day.
 
Hmm…

I’d say EPII about 70% of the time, EPIII the other 30% of the time. Not sure when I last heard the Roman Canon in our local OF parish.
 
I’m not counting. We have 3 priests and another in residence and they all seem to do different things. One is a very gifted liturgist and singer and so tends to include all the optional parts. One is an historian and manages to use every obscure choice for daily Mass readings and will do things like use a funeral EP on a martyr’s feast/memorial. The in residence priest is an order priest and so often does things from his tradition. Our pastor is just a lovely old Irish priest.

I pray and look up when the bells ring. 😃
 
Hmmm, first I had to look up what Roman Canon is, then I looked up Eucharistic Prayer ii and iii.

I don’t know, they all sound familiar but especially EPii and iii. Guess I’ll be listening a little closer this Sunday!

The Roman Canon is very distinct from the other ones.

The Roman Canon is lengthier.
