I know this has been brought up here before and I know there are other options at that point in the Liturgy and I know it’s up to the priest which option to use and I’m not questioning the Priest. It seems more and more the confIteor is not being said. I feel like something is missing when it’s not said. How often is it said at your Parish or other Churches you attend? Do you have a preference either way?

I don’t know how this ended up in this forum. Can someone move it to the proper forum?

Never said. . .but then again, I can count on the fingers of one hand how many times in the last 5 years we hear any penitential rite at all, not even "lord have mercy’. We’re an ‘Easter people’ and we’re holy just by existing, dontcha know. (seriously, we were told that by walking through the doors of the church, WE the people ‘made the place holy’).

I don’t know. We have 7 Masses on Sunday (including the Saturday vigil Mass), and since I only attend one and sometimes two if I am playing organ, I couldn’t say what’s happening at the other Masses.

In the Masses I attend, I would say it’s said about 75% of the time. The Mass where it is likely not to be done is the Sunday evening Mass, which currently has a more contemporary feel, and is heavily-attended by the teens, and also by people like me who find contemporary hymns more reverent.

After every Mass weekdays and weekends since the first of the year.

I’ve only heard it said twice in the last three years - both times with visiting Priests.

An hour + away, sigh. But what fabulous priests (FSSP). If we could bottle their zeal for the faith…
Yesterday we were exhorted, challenged, to invite one person to Mass, to “come and see.”

Wow, that is some tragically bad theology. Is “anti-theology” a word?
I’d say you are undergoing some serious mortification.

Territorial parish: never at Sunday Masses. Other days of the week, it varies greatly depending on which priest is offering the Mass.

ICRSS: at every Mass. Three times, in fact 😀

The Mass I attend? It’s said three times, every time. 🙂
