How old are we going to be in Heaven?

My Priest told me this is an established theological theory, and one that he likes. I can’t remember the ultimate source(s) of it though.

Well, it does seem to be a tricky question to answer, but try we must! Good answers so far, guys.

Just to look at one aspect, a physical one. It seems that, in general, as far as our corporeal state goes, here on Earth now, barring sickness or something of the sort, we are in our best form at 25 or so. What do you think?

I always felt 24 was still a bit young, and then 26, a bit getting on somewhere past an ideal number, 25 is the last beautiful number. It’s a perfect square, as well. Therefore, 25.

I was rather stupid at 25, spirit/soul wise but it was indeed a good age from a corporeal point of view. Older than that, I would prefer not, 👨‍🎨

This is not my final answer, however. Only musing.

I was always told that we are the age we were the happiest and “complete” in Heaven.

I was in peak form at 23, so selfishly I’d want to go with that number as so far as physicality.

Mentally I can’t speak past 42, so the rest remains to be seen.

Mind you, this is a “Heaven on Earth” type scenario as I understand it.

In that one move, “I believe in Heaven” I think is the name. The little boy saw his grandfather in heaven. It was not grandpa as he was before he died, it was Grandpa when he was in his 20s or so. The dad had to show him old pictures until he recognized him.

So there’s one little anecdote. Mother angelica told a story about her father in a similar vein. I’m sure this sort of apparition or private revelation is not so uncommon.

Well, that’s another question entirely. 😮

I should like to hide behind some well thought out and noble academic argument to this question but perhaps a slight amount of my curiosity stems from vanity, not all. I concede there are weightier questions on heaven than our current area of discussion. But I should have to say that I am curious about age and what we shall look like.

Pondering on heaven is a worth while endeavour, I belive, because of it’s capacity to stir up our theological virtue of Hope.

Aquinas delineates 4 basic characteristics off our glorified bodies, but that is probably better left to another thread.
