I was 12 or 13. I understood that to be a witness of my faith meant to be a martyr. And that you received gifts from the Holy Spirit. Now I believe we should receive confirmation at baptism like the Eastern Church does. I think Latin Church is way off for decades now regarding this sacrament.
I was 11. In those days, they confirmed you when you were in the 6th grade. Yes, I understood as well as an 11 year old can what the sacrament was all about.
