My vocation started at the age of 7 1/2 to 8 years of age then it returned in my highschool years, at the age of 15 I wanted to enter I begged the priest to let me enter but he did not allow it sadly :bighanky:

I began seriously discerning and considering that I had a call to religious life and it was not easy I wrestled with God but fortunately God won! lol And I am glad he did I want to look into a few traditional orders that still wear the habit it is vital for me to wear a habit and veil! I still am in discernment process…

My family all support me and said for me to follow my heart and dreams. And my process is still on hold but I am seeking advice from my friends that are nuns and priests even my spiritual directoress as well. 😉

Blessings to you all anyone else have a religious calling that they would like to share?

About 9, but I wasn’t Catholic (or even baptised) then.

B) Began seriously considering it

50, but needed Decree of Nullity still, so stopped more than vague discernment.

C) Took major steps to go about it (i.e. contacting people)

51, since Nullity still not through they were only preliminary

D) Decided for/against

52, Nullity through but realized that health and age impediments made decision for me
🤷
E) Began the process

Wow…only 14! How long did it take you to decide? It’s amazing that you are so sure. :amen: :clapping:
I wish I could be the same:nun1: but this kind :nun1:

A. my aunt says she remembers me talking about being a nun when I was 8 or 9
B. 17
C. 22 - did a general discernment program with the Ursulines of Jesus, and some more specific discernment with the Daughters of St. Paul.
D. 28 - after I left graduate school and started really living ‘in the world’ it became more clear to me and the vocationist that I’ve been working with that I’m probably not called to religious life. At the moment I’m exploring consecrated single life, but I’m also open to the idea of marriage - if the right fellow comes along.

It’s been an exciting journey for me so far, and I’m looking forward to seeing where it goes next.

Hmm, lets see:

I’m 21 now, I turn 22 on the 1st of december 🙂

A) As early as around 6 years old, albeit not seriously

B) About two years ago

C) Earlier this year, I contacted the vocations director for my diocese

D) Pretty much around the same time as ‘C’

E) As of october I attend what is known as a ‘Samuel Group’ with like-minded people my age seeking direction concerning vocations. I am in regular contact with the vocations director and he attends the group with me.

Wish me luck!!

I am not exactly sure. I have wanted to be a priest for a long time, but only recently have I started to consider it seriously. I actually drifted into Mohammedanism before coming back to the Church. It is still a little hard for me…being a fourteen year old boy going to a public high school in America…

Bilop- no I meant the SSPX (or FSSPX depending on your taste).

A) At least by 3rd grade.

B) I dunno, 6th grade?

C) I attended high school seminary, so 8th or 9th grade, I guess you’d say.

D) Realized that my vocation was elsewhere shortly before graduating high school. So 12th grade, age 18.

E) Depends what you mean by “the process.” It could be argued that the process starts very young, in the hearth of home and Church. Since I attended a minor seminary, one could say that this “started the process.” But since I never went further with it beyond high school (let alone unto major seminary) some might suggest that I never did entirely “start the process.” Since that period was one of discernment within a school established to foster such, though, I would beg to differ somewhat.

Why do you want to be in incomplete union with the Pope?

If you love the TLM, there are orders that use the old rites exclusively that are in complete union (FSSP, ICRSS).

God Bless

I would tell you, but then I might get in trouble for insult to the Church (which is by no means my intention). Maybe via PM.

Last year, the first day of Advent! (24 years old)

B) Began seriously considering it
About 3 months later (24 years old)

C) Took major steps to go about it (i.e. contacting people)
July of this year (right before my 25th birthday)

D) Decided for/against
I decided to go for it in June of this year (24 years old)

E) Began the process
I have not begun a formal discernment process yet because I have not yet gone to a community and felt at home. I am planning to visit the CFR Sisters this next year, and hopefully experience that feeling. If so, I will start the formal process. (tentative!)

My whole discernment has moved very quickly no matter how much I try to slow it down! I’m working on God’s time, not my own and apparently He’s making up for the time lost?? LOL. I am so joyful!

Eight, I suppose. But not really seriously, I think.

B) Began seriously considering it
Sixteen.

C) Took major steps to go about it (i.e. contacting people)
Sixteen is when I met my archdiocese’s vocation director. Have not yet visited any communities, but I’m planning on making a retreat next spring.

D) Decided for/against
Still unsure.

E) Began the process
Have not yet.

A) I became Catholic in the Fall of 2005 at age 24. But, it was the summer before that when, for the very first time, a priest asked if I had thought about a religious vocation.

B) When I broke up with my long time girlfriend I began to seriously consider the priesthood, this was around my 25th birthday.

C) When I began investigating the religious life, I was contacted by the Josephites, who knew my story. These were one of many orders that contacted me through on of the vocations search websites. The Josephites said they could not consider me until I had been a practicing Catholic for 3 years. For some reason, that stuck with me so I decided to wait for my 3rd anniversary of being received into the Church to make a decision.

D) My third anniversary came and went. There was no defining moment that I decided I would apply for seminary. It was very gradual, having days where I was very excited and others where I was very nervous. But, in the end, I decided to trust in God and see where this will lead me.

E) My 27th birthday was very close to my 3rd anniversary of being received into the Church. I contacted my vocations director then and began the formal process. This month (December) I am scheduled to meet with my archbishop and undergo psychological evaluation. The rest is in God’s hands.

Wonderful! I will be praying for your vocation! We need good priests 👍
