It would depend on what kind of training the potential student were seeking. If he is looking for training in a secular field and the secular university can best prepare him for that field, he should go there. If a Christian university has better training in the student’s chosen field, he should go to the Christian university. In both cases, however, the Catholic student should be prepared for the possibility of defending his faith under the potentially hostile environments of either anti-Catholic secularism or anti-Catholic Christianity.
