How should a woman dress for a week day mass?

Is a t-shirt, black pants, and sandles appropriate?
Yes. Daily mass is typically far more relaxed. And honestly, what you describe would be fine for Sunday mass too.

Unless you are leaving something out, like the pants or t-shirt are really unchaste and/or provocative.

Yes. I usually wear blue jeans (hey, a girl can only take pantyhose for so long…).

The topic of appropriate dress for women tends to be a can of worms kind of discussion about here.

The truth is that God accepts you no matter how you are attired. There are, however, lots of different opinions on this subject.

I personally would forego the T-Shirt, but I don’t wear T-Shirts anyway. I won’t judge during this hot weather. You could wear a pink bikini and I would secretly wish I could, too!

You decide. It’s going to be a factor of culture, your particular geography, and your own judgment. That is completely fine for any mass I’ve been to pretty much anywhere in the world-- weekday or Sunday. But there might be places that dress up more. I know a couple of immigrant-heavy parishes in my old diocese that have African women who dress to the nines for mass-- but their American kids look like everyone else.
What does that mean?
This topic comes up often, there isn’t an actual answer because the Church doesn’t have a dress code, and people will argue endlessly about what is “appropriate”. The real answer is: it’s prudential judgment on your part.

Dress - as if you were meeting with Jesus.
You are - if you believe he’s in the Eucharist !

Not trashy, but with modesty.

After church - sure, you can change gears - as they say.
Unless, your broke and can’t afford anything 1/2 decent.

As a guy, I wear cargo shorts and a polo with my running shoes. Whereas on Sunday I have khaki pants as opposed to shorts, I’ve not really paid attention to what the women wear.
In regards to sandals, onr of the priest at my parish wears sandals at daily Mass even though he has black shoes for Sunday.
I will say that to gauge what’s appropriate, you may consider taking one day to wear your Sunday clothes, take a look at what others are wearing, and then dress down from there. Then you’ll know hiw to not stick out.

Clothes.

Generally for week day mass I’ve found people dress as they do for the week. Many are attending Mass and then heading straight to work. So generally, anything that wouldn’t draw attention on the street is fine.

Just wear anything that decently covers you. If it’s a TLM then you may want to be a little more formal. If your church has particular apparel rules (I was in a church yesterday that had a sign asking that people not wear shorts), then follow them. Many people attending on a weekday will be dressed for work because they’re coming from or going to work, so you’ll see people in businss casual, in scrubs, in jeans depending on what work they do. I would say that black pants (assuming they aren’t super clingy yoga leggings), a t-shirt and sandals are just fine, I wear similar things to Mass.

Is there a prescribed uniform? Oh, no!!! Just when I seem to be at peace in my relationship with Christ, and in my worship of God, I find another legalistic hurdle to overcome! I hope I have the right underware and socks on…must they match?

Normally when I attend weekday mass (which unfortunately isn’t that often) it’s on my way home from work so I wear my work (office) clothes. For me that’s typically an ironed shirt and black pants or black jeans and black leather shoes. I have the impression many of the other folks there similarly came straight from work so sometimes you can sort of infer what they do.

s a week day Mass different than a weekend Mass?
Well, liturgically, yes. On ordinary weekdays, there’s no Gloria, no Creed, and often, no music. Attendance is not compulsory. It’s the same God present in the Eucharist of course, but the liturgy is simpler, which I happen to really like as it makes Sunday Mass or feast days feel that much more special.

I attend weekday Mass every Wednesday, where I volunteer in an abbey’s library. If I’m working in the library office classifying newly received books, I’ll wear what one would call, for men, “business casual”: chinos, decent shirt (short-sleeves in summer, long in winter) and in cold weather, a sweater.

If I know I’ll be working in the stacks moving books around (the library acquired 4 new rows of shelves recently to accommodate the expanding collection), or moving outdated books to the archives, well the stacks can get pretty dusty, and it can be hot work so I’ll be more likely to wear a pair of jeans and a work shirt instead of a dress shirt.

As others have said many folks at weekday Mass are going to or from work so you’ll see uniforms, work clothes, etc.

Yes of course. It’s awesome that people attend weekday Mass

How do you dress for weekend Mass? If you are able to just dress the same.
