I was reading the comic book “The Nikopol Trilogy” and suddendly one of the charachters (a man who has gone insane and whose passion for Baudelaire reflects in his madness) starts proclaiming the “Litanies of Satan”, which, in case you don’t know, are a famous and controversial poem where the author, mostly to mock the religious hipocrisy and bigotry of Parisian society, makes a long praise of the devil as a tragic rebel, bringer of knowkedge and protector of distressed souls (somewhat of a Miltonian satan, to be clear)
My problem is…what now?
As the title itself says, how should I see this? A mere reference to a great poet, or something (the comic) to stay away from?
