How should we deal with Catholics who are badly mistaken about matters of Catholic tradition?

In my experience it has been best to just build a traditional Catholic presence in a diocese and obtain the bonds that such a group can have. So basically try to ignore opposition as much as possible.
I haven’t found the benefit yet in arguing with opponents.
Anyone else have other experiences to share?

Some Catholics think they know everything there is to know about matters of Catholic tradition but they really don’t.

Or in trying to enlighten people who are not interested and/or blindly opposed.
From what I gather in traditional Catholic circles, others experience the same. Just wondering what other views might be.

That’s certainly true on both extreme sides of the question. 😐
Best we trust in the Holy Spirits guardianship of the Magisterium then.

As I said in my other post, you are likely to confuse many about Sacred Tradition vs what you are speaking of here, the EF vs OF .
All Catholics live by Sacred Tradition and Sacred Scripture. It forms the Catholic Framework of the Church.

He did post in Traditional Catholicism, so I suggest that this be left for those who most care, and know, about these things.

Good luck with your question, @Bill_B_NY!

What, specifically, are you referring to here?
How should we deal with Catholics who are badly mistaken about matters of Catholic tradition?
Sorry, I meant what “matters of Catholic tradition” are you referring to? About what, specifically, are some Catholics “badly mistaken”?

Thank you Edmunds 1581. Yes, you got it! It’s directed towards those who know and care about such things and who have had the experience from a traditional Catholic context.

Hypothetically, they should yes. But in reality, no they don’t.
This is not what Sacred Tradition is.
Please do some research on it.

Catholics, on the other hand, recognize that the true “rule of faith”—as expressed in the Bible itself—is Scripture plus apostolic tradition, as manifested in the living teaching authority of the Catholic Church, to which were entrusted the oral teachings of Jesus and the apostles, along with the authority to interpret Scripture correctly.

Apostolic Tradition. Research will yield a rich variety of topics.

What I meant was, “believe me, they really are”.
I’m asking for examples, though. We can all define “Catholics traditions about which Catholics are badly mistaken” differently.

Thank you. Because this is leading to posts that are kind of confusing.
