This is a serious question. Although I honestly don’t care about the catholic view on this I am curious.

In the Catholic faith I’m curious to how sinful this situation coming up is.

Ok well I’m gay and my cousin is gay, hes getting married to his boyfriend and I’m his best man so I want to plan there bachelor party. I’m thinking of getting male strippers. So added onto the gay marriage and such how sinful in the catholic faith would this be? like do you think I’m going to hell or what? this is a serious question despite how it was brought on by both humor and curiosity.

I think you’ve hung around here long enough to know the answer to that one, and I don’t believe you’re asking a serious question at all.

I don’t think you have asked any serious questions on these forums. If your intent is to provoke, it’s beginning to get old.

No I’m seriously curious about that. Would I go to hell or what? and you must of seen the responses I gave back to people on the other threads I answered truthfully and gave good answers. If you have a serious answer then I would like to hear it if not can you please leave this page.

Why would you post in a Catholic forum then?🤷 Your intent MUST be to provoke. Sorry, no bites.
I asked for the CATHOLIC approach on this. You wouldn’t go to an atheist board and ask that type of question. Do you have an answer or not?

I’ll try to break this question apart so some of you can take this more seriously because I really am curious.

How sinful would male strippers be? its a valid question
And how sinful do you think my cousins marriage would be?

Some of you must have an answer to this. And what would I provoke anyway? a bunch of people not taking me seriously? thats not what I want I want a SERIOUS answer.

Edit: Look at this I check the forum for a second and I see this thread forums.catholic-questions.org/showthread.php?t=152962 how can that get a serious answer and this thread not?

Edit:…;…again. I have to go to bed but when I wake up tomorrow I would really like to hear some serious answers to this if possible could you compare it to another sin? I believe this to be a valid question and if you don’t then I believe your a bit too immature its a practical quesiton I and my cousin are gay and I’m wondering when/if I do this what the catholic approach on this would be. Why do I care you ask? because I’m very philosophical I like to hear different religious approaches on things and Catholicism is one I’m very interested in because its contrasts with my beliefs so much. So if there are any mature people on this forum I will see some serious replies when I wake up tomorrow.

You started this thread when you first came to CAF:
When I’m older I’m going to marry a man and I’m wondering can you have a non religous marriage? because I often see religion grouped with marriage and I’m wondering if you can get a non religous wedding since I’m both agnostic and gay. Also if religion is essential to marriage then what religion do you suggest?
You received 5 pages of responses that answered every conceivable question you might ever have regarding homosexuality, same-sex marriage and Catholic teaching. Considering the lengths to which members have gone to provide you with answers, I would say you have been taken seriously. But now, you are simply repeating yourself with the same provocative questions, dressed up to look like something else. If you are so philosophical, you should be able to ascertain what Catholic teaching would be on homosexual men hiring males strippers for a homosexual bachelor party.

That other thread was asking abot legal matters of same sex marriage if I received any answers about catholic morality then it was un asked for. And hey if you don’t want to answer that part of the question because you believe its been answered then by all means don’t. My main question would be the morality of strippers which I KNOW is a valid question because it falls under lust which I know is a catholic sin but to what degree would the sin be? and if you still don’t believe this is a valid question then you must have a very closed mind. So are you going to answer my self evidently valid question or not?

In case your wondering I’m writing this on my ps3.

I can’t believe anyone would be so lacking in common intelligence as not to know that lust is a sin - grave, mortal, serious, deadly, whatever you may have heard it called.

You yourself said you know it’s lust, so where’s the serious question about it?

You don’t need to know anything about Catholicism to figure any of this out. You’re still not being serious.

You mock my intelligence? in that message THAT YOU QUOTED I said to what degree of a sin is it. Did you even read the message?!

Yes I read it - and if you had two brain cells to rub together you could have answered it for yourself.

You surely can figure out what the words serious, deadly, and mortal mean in regard to sin??? Those words aren’t French or anything, you know. You do speak English don’t you? Clearly they mean the highest possible degree of sin.

Now I don’t know a person alive who’s never heard the words ‘deadly sin’ used to describe lust. You yourself said that you know having strippers around is lust, yes??? So put two and two together! Of course it’s a deadly sin to have to do with strippers.

I think this question is an attempt to bait Catholics into giving you a fairly nasty response, which you will not get.

Clearly if you are not ‘interested’ in what the Catholic view on this is as you clearly say here, then there is no point in trying to give a serious answer to this question.

Yes, and you also, I am certain, know more than enough to figure out the answer for yourself.

I wasn’t sure lust was a deadly sin due to the fact that EVERY teenager has thought about a person in a lustful fashion. And plus I want opinions from people not just one person mocking my intelligence because I ask what really is a valid question. For fsm sake someone asked if throwing out spoiled food is a sin! yet your over here mocking me which makes it clear that you must have some prejudice against me. But gee what could a straight catholic have against a gay agnosic?

Edit: You just edited out a whole paragraph mocking my intelligence whats with that?

You weren’t sure lust was a deadly sin? You’ve never heard anyone say that lust is a deadly sin before? That I don’t believe.

I go to a public school and have non religious parents. If a teacher went on about Catholicism they would be sued so quickly.

It’s not a Catholic concept - you never heard of the movie Seven, with Brad Pitt in it? It’s all over popular culture as well ya know.

  1. Why would I want a nasty response? my self esteem is already dangerously low just recently coming out of the closet to a homophobic gay bashing school why would I want it to suffer more?
  2. I already stated I am curious.

I know you will not believe me but I have never even heard of that movie. Is it new?
And yes it is without question a religious concept its one of the 10.
