I just want to share some thoughts of mine, to see what you think about it…

In the Catholic Church in Poland, meaning of the word sex is associated with evil deeds by the word “shameless”. By using a negative interpretation of the meaning of the word “shameless” in the context of sex and combining it with the continued maintenance of an emphasis on the bad deeds, those must be avoided, the church attaches shame before the intimate sphere to the shame for wrongdoing. The result is that of educating a child is in fear of shame associated with intimate spheres and shame associated with bad deeds - which is of course not obvious in the context of the current meaning of the word “shameless” in public - which is pointing emphatically to sex.

The false benefit from the misinterpretation (both material and spiritual) is important for religions, which cultivate that specific practice in order to hide the fact that safe emotional lost, we can achieve only through sex - because not enough that we can safely lose in sex through physical contact and feeling, it’s even better if we develop a mutual love. Everyone knows that the orgasm is very pleasant and safe, and that the church can not even catch cold. Meanwhile, the effect of making such an erroneous belief is that the person is unable to control the emotions of sex, by the fact that they are not properly internally understood because of the wrong interpretation of the word “shameless”, as obligatory - as well as because of many local anti-sexual hysterias, which are, however, fully justified in this case.

What must be done globally, is to remind people that the word “shameless” should be received in mind with another meaning. Shameless man - as a positive hero with no shame associated with evil deeds and shameless - as a positive hero with no shame before intimate spheres. In this way, the courage to overcome people’s emotional limitations will become a paramount value, and the fear of shame associated with sex will dissapear - along with catholic leadership on this one.

My sex life is far, far better as a married Catholic than as a free-roaming non-Catholic. If people feel shame for sex outside of a valid marriage, good! What you advocate is not freedom from oppression but slavery to sex. And your argument is the very oldest in the book, literally–it did Adam and Eve no good, it will do us no good either.

Perhaps this link will help shed some light on what the true, spiritual value of sex is in the Church. It’s a bit graphic, but very frank, and even groundbreaking. I read it while going through my marriage preparation, and I thought that the messages in each complemented each other beautifully!
