How is the Lord’s Prayer supposed to be finished in the Mass? Is this doxology supposed to be said? (For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours, now and forever)
I’m pretty sure that this part is not a part of the Lord’s Prayer itself, but an addition.
Also, is the Priest supposed to say this? (Deliver us, Lord, from every evil, and grant us peace in our day. In your mercy keep us free from sin and protect us from all anxiety as we wait in joyful hope for the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ.)
Everywhere I have been, this has been said, but I am not actually sure this is part of the rubrics.
I hope these aren’t silly questions. I have always said the prayers at Mass like this, but I never really thought if this was actually supposed to happen. What really made me think about this was how people decide to hold hands during the Lord’s Prayer. I do not do this, as it is not in the rubrics.
