I am puzzled by this question. Shouldn’t we treat everyone with love? Hate the sin, love the sinner. Maybe, I am misunderstanding question here.
I am invalidly married. I have returned to the church. My husband and I are working on annulments. He is not Catholic, but married in church for his first marriage. I was not a practicing Catholic when I married.(both times)
I am caregiver for my elderly mother. We had a deacon coming to the house bringing her communion every week. He treated my husband and I with such love. He prayed for us to have spiritual communion while my mother had physical communion.
As an adult, I did not agree with all of the Catholic teachings. I guess I was a “cafeteria Catholic”. Now, I feel more and believe all of the Catholic faith than I ever have. I think what really led me more to all of the Catholic beliefs is the Eucharistic adoration. I try to go weekly.
My point is to treat them with love. Pray they will have their marriage validated.
