There were no humans when humans didn’t exist. That does not mean humans are eternal.
There was a time when humans did not exist, so humans are not eternal. How can there be a time when time did not exist? If time is part of the space-time manifold then there was no time when the space-time manifold did not exist.

If something has existed for all time, then that thing is eternal. Time definitely qualifies. The universe may qualify if Einstein is correct (or near enough correct). Humans do not qualify because there was a time when humans did not exist. Time has a special status when discussing eternal entities, since eternality is determined with respect to time.
