How to Avoid Purgatory

I’ve read this priest’s booklet regarding Purgatory. Apart from praying for the souls in Purgatory, in Prayer intentions, and at Communion time and in the Liturgy, I don’t actually do much counting time regarding indulgences. I would think that praying for the sufferers is probably healing both for their spirits and ours as Fr Paul suggests. It may contribute to lessening their time and ours, thanks to our mercy towards them…but I don’t naturally feel drawn to repeating lines, rather to talking to God, praying to God naturally from the heart. The booklet does inspire…but as for my purgatory, who knows. Am I as bad as I feel sometimes? I don’t know how God will judge me.

I aways ask St Michael to take the Precious Blood (each day when I receive It) to each of the Souls in Purgarory, missing none, when I receive Communion. That is maybe odd I don’t know but it’s what I do. If reciting the right number of prayers is the best way, I don’t shine in it.

I admire you for your perseverance in indulgenced prayers 🙂
