I admire St (Padre) Pio for being so candid and stating what he did so well when it comes to matters of our faith.

Are there any prayer formulas you can pray before leaving the church after mass? After communion i always kneel, thanking God in a prayerformula i have.

But after reading this excellent letter of Padre Pio, i realize that there are so much to be learned.

Prayer of St. Thomas Aquinas
I thank you, holy Lord, almighty Father, eternal God, who deigned to feast me, sinful and unworthy servant, with the precious body and blood of your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, not for any merit of mine, but only because of your merciful goodness. And I pray that this Holy Communion, far from condemning me to punishment, may bring about my pardon and salvation, encompassing me with the armor of faith and the shield of a good will. By it let my vices be done away, all lustful desires extinguished. May it advance me in charity, patience, humility, obedience, and every other virtue. Awesome, i hope to find someone that can translate this prayer to my native tongue. My english is ok, but not that great. St Thomas was great and this prayer would fill in some spiritual holes in my developing prayerlife.

Many thanks. I actually found it in a prayerbook a while after checking it here and will read this after mass, until im able to memorize it completely. Great prayer by a really special man. Padre Pio is a man of God, no doubt about that.

Just like St Thomas was.
