I have been. Some continue to read what they want to into my comments and there isn’t much I can do about that.
Grace, you have to stop trying to blame others for their reactions, stop calling it pushback, and take responsibility for what you wrote, that, however you meant it, clearly looks like you suggest anti-Semitism is a big Catholic problem.
Just look at the title. ‘How to confront Catholic antisemitism’? Then in your first post you talk about prevalent anti-Semitism among Catholics on social media. You then think you ‘prove’ this by posting a handful of tweets from Catholic accounts (well, at least they make out to be Catholic).
Your entire thread is about confronting and stamping out Catholic anti-Semitism, but many of us on here, respectfully disagree that this is a Catholic problem. How about first trying to prove this prevalent anti-Semitism among Catholics, with more than a few tweets from a handful of accounts, before trying to find ways for us to fix it? If this thread was about anti-Semitism in general, and how we can prevent it, that would be different. Personally I think there is a lot more of it taking place from non-religious people.
Perhaps you would agree that Christianity in general is anti-Semitic? Heard of Rabbi Shmuley Boteach? He believes parts of the Bible should have parenthesis, warning people that the content they are about to read is anti-Semitic. Yes, according to him, parts of the Bible are anti-Semitic. Do you agree with this? I mean, things can get absurd, don’t you think?
