I dunno why but i’ve always had a hard time dealing w worry.
I try to pray and put my trust in God but sometimes it’s just so overwhelming.

I was just wondering if anyone else out there deals w this like me and what kind of advice you maybe can offer me.

Thank you

Yes I’m a total nut with worrying. If it’s not one thing it’s another, my mind races at night and I have a hard time falling asleep. I take natural herbs like valariun root (doesn’t seem to be working lol) but during the day I try to distract myself from my thoughts stay busy. Also at night divine mercy chaplet is great and also a man told me about a prayer for anxious minds. You call upon the nine choirs of angels to sing in heaven to help you go to sleep (kind of a lullaby) you say 9 our fathers one for each choir of angels. Say the our fathers slowly while meditating and you should be asleep before you hit nine, and if your not it’s because your mind wandered and just keep trying. Also I repeat Jesus I trust in you a lot when I’m anxious and when i have intrusive thoughts I will ask them To be broken by my sign of the cross then I make the sign of the cross.

I’m not sure.

Some things I worry about doesn’t seem to bother others but some things others worry about don’t seem to bother me.

My dad was a born worrier.

I have, and I still am learning to trust the Lord more. Focus on His Passion for us, and stay close to our Blessed Mother.

In the Divine Mercy devotion we are encouraged to say frequently “Jesus, I trust in you”.

It is a battle we fight, and the Lord is on our side. He is there for us!

Yes, as you can see, you’re definitely not alone! That in itself should help a little. The above suggestions are great. I’ve found short and simple prayers to be good. If I say too many long ones over and over, I sometimes tend to get a bit obsessive/compulsive and worry even more that I haven’t been concentrating enough on the prayers! I read that St. Padre Pio said, “Don’t worry, just pray!” I also recall a Saint (although I can’t remember which) saying that when we worry it means we’re not trusting in God, and that worry can be a selfish sin because of that, so sometimes that thought helps me to stomp out the worrying in my mind and trust in God instead! Good luck, and God’s blessings to you. He made us just the way we are, so He will help us whenever we need it! Worrying can take away the joy of the present moment which He wants us to treasure, so it helps when I try to focus on that, too.
