haha… okay, and as an American I believe in the freedom of speech, but that doesn’t mean I’m going to agree that it’s alright to defame the Catholic Church.

After seeing this thread I decided to join the CARM forum. Wow man, I have never seen such absolute hate for the Church and Catholics. To be honest most of their posts make me laugh. I was already given a warning because I called Protestants “Protty” and apparently that is an insult? Even though I also called radical traditionalists “rad trads” - I thought these were just cute nicknames. Yet left and right I see fundamentalists calling Catholics clueless, liar, heretics, blasphemers, goddess worshipers, fools, etc. And are they given warnings? LOL.

The sarcastic side of me wants to say, “Yeah. Their mods often warn them that they’re beeing too charitable toward Catholics…” :slapfight: But that’s probably just me not being charitable enough toward them and their moderators. :blackeye:
Semi-relatedly, I randomly turned on some televangelist’s show yesterday (I never do that, but…
), and this old preacher guy was talking about Balaam and Balak, and how Balaam (that’s the prophet, right? I always get those two confused. Why did they have to have such similar names??) kept trying to curse the Israelites like Balak wanted, but God kept making him bless them instead because you can’t curse people whom God has blessed. As the man talked, I just kept smiling and thinking about people like those on CARM. They try sooooooooooo hard to curse the Church, shouting at each other to defame the Body of Christ with every purfidious insult they can muster. They curse and they curse and they curse! But, like Balak’s curses, their curses all just keep getting intercepted by God and turned instead to blessing after blessing after blessing being poured out on the Catholic Church.
