MainBrain, I’ve always been a quotes fan. Find some quotes from inspirational people that have the virtues you know you need to strive for to be happy, and put them around your life. I even put quotes on the back of the loo door for my family to read in a quiet moment.

Pope John Paul II is one of my favourites to life my spirits…

God bless.

I’ve just searched some of your other posts and you seem to be in a very dark place at the moment that requires more than just the help that a messge board can offer. The problem with clinical despair is that you believe that the way you feel right now is the way you will always feel. That is the lie of it. The human default is hope and happiness and it will return to you eventually.

Help yourself by reaching out for medical help. Allow others to help you through and you in turn will be a witness for others suffering despair.

:hug1: Take care and God bless.

MainBrain, STOP IT! . You are being deceived by demons. They are laughing at the way you complain and are ungrateful to God. Stop for a moment and open your eyes and soul and see with the eyes of Christ! Demons are spiritual beings that are smarter than humans. Stop falling into their traps. If your wife is listening to demons, bad for her, but know salvation is alone, so work on yourself to be holier every day. Love is sacrifice, it is a decision we make for the greater good. Keep praying for your wife’s conversion and become a saint! Degrees and professional success wont get you anywhere after you die, but acts of self-giving, self-sacrifice, love and keeping God’s commandments, especially the first one. STOP insulting the Lord by saying you are a loser. HE does not create waste, HE IS GOD, humble yourself and ask forgiveness. Your purpose here on Earth is to purify yourself and suffer in order to get back Home were we truly belong. It is time you man up and fight evil. I highly recommend you read a book called Be A Man!: Be the Man God Created You to Be by Fr. Larry.

You love your child and wife. I’m assuming you are in charge of the home doing the shopping, chores, and child care as well as the household repairs. I’m assuming because your wife works full time, you’ve made sure she doesn’t have to do these things when she’s home. That is a WONDERFUL gift you are giving to her and your child.

You have a college degree. Apparently, there isn’t anything in your field. Consider switching to another career. Previously, I suggested you look at your hobbies to determine what you might like to do.

You are probably comparing yourself to your wife’s boss. You don’t know the trials he might have. And dwelling on that isn’t going to help you.

Don’t concentrate on job opportunities that require the discipline of your college degree. Many have degrees in one area but found that their interests and opportunities took them elsewhere.

Can you work with your hands? Carpentry, repairs, car work, gardening?

My wife only works part time!
I do have hobbies. But I don’t do them. I don’t know why.

My wife only works part time!
Why is that important? She’s out working so you are home and you should be picking up the slack in the house.

I don’t understand with all the things I wrote e.g. hobbies, volunteer work, etc. you shot back the above with a “!” at the end. Makes me wonder if you aren’t doing ALL at home.

If you are home full time, why isn’t she working full-time?

LongingSoul I am not an addict of any kind!!
Well, you DO seem addicted to exclamation points. Just sayin…

To your problem, you have a self confidence problem. And a selfishness problem.

Your lack of self confidence is leading you to be suspicious of your wife.

Your selfishness is causing you to proclaim that you do everything right, yet “God gives me nothing.”

Get over yourself. God gave you the strength to deal with all of this. But you’re too selfish to see it. You treat God like a genie in a lamp. Like He owes you because you prayed right.

I’m not saying any of this to be hurtful. But you haven’t responded well to more gentle replies.

Don’t pray for God to fix your problems. Pray that He helps you realize the strength He already gave you. Then use it. And relax.

Especially with the exclamation points.

I am apologize for getting angry at you and for calling you an idiot. But you really did hurt me and I felt violated by your unfounded accusations. However, that is no excuse for me getting so angry at you. I apologize.**

heidi storage responded to my Post** : “No, no! People react differently to lie-detector tests; it is NOT a true and accurate way to get at whether she’s having an affair or not.”**

Even if Lie Detectors are only solidly accurate in 90% of people, THE VERY ACT that she would agree to take a Polygraph Test, is Half the battle.
Her willingness may be all that the OP needs to feel like she is being Truthful with him.

The OP is NOT looking for a Pound of flesh … more like an Ounce of reassurance.

And, hopefully the OP can find something else to occupy his waking hours, than to ponder if some pokey-pokey is going on.
I think you have been watching too much Maury. I would not gamble my marriage and the reaction of a mentally unstable person on 90% I wouldn’t gamble it on 99.999999999999 Percent. I love my family more that that russian roulette of a risk.

It is obvious that you need help. And it is not help anyone on this site can give you. I suggest you don’t post because we are not equipped to help your situation and no one on here who was kind enough to post needs or deserves your lashing out. Nor will you get fixed here. The only advice ANYONE should offer you is to seek professional and spiritual help. Beyond that this should be a very very short thread.

How does a loser unemployed husband like me deal with the suspicious behavior his wife is giving him… adoring and adulating her boss… texting at work all the time… going to work during off hours… working very very late…
For your own sake, you need to find out what’s going on. Either hire a private investigator, or follow her yourself. This site is very helpful in directing those who are suspicious of infidelity or who are victims of infidelity what to do:

This attack on my mental health is really cruel and uncalled for. For your information, I am going to talk to someone. But your attack on me is just mean. Both of you! I apologized for lashing out! If nobody can accept it it’s not my problem anymore. I humbled myself and apologized. I don’t need judgement thrown in my face.

Hi, I don’t think anyone will sustain a judgement that you are mentally ill.

They are indicating that you have shown that your attitudes eg, towards yourself, your image of self and self talk aren’t very healthy. You know that.
And when our image of ourself isn’t healthy or is skewed, we aren’t always enormously accurate in assessing others also. When self-critical, we can also be more intensely reactive to any hint of criticism from others. This is natural human behaviour.

If you do need some help to reset your self-attitudes and maybe also your perception of others…that isn’t a judgement of mental illness.

It’s a reality that most of us perhaps at times in our lives need to readjust our self-image and our perceptions of others. All of us need help in one way or other, at some time.
Sometimes we need others to help us reset, as we may be so enmeshed in our way of thinking and responding that we can’t make the adjustment alone. This is why a few posters have suggested help.

Sometimes it’s someone else’s few wise words that can trigger a change in our thoughts and lives, sometimes it is a personal unexpected kindness, sometimes it is therapy. The fact that you can’t even go ahead with your hobbies and interests, indicates that you need something or someone to help you to overcome the depressive blocks and start really living according to your real self, your real God-given gifts.

If we are critical of ourselves, we do take anything that seems like criticism or judgement by others, far more seriously than they might intend. And you did react very strongly to anything you perceived or recognised as criticism. You are made extra sensitive to anything negative or threatening from others, including your fear that your wife may have some emotional infidelity.

Right now you do need to seek some kind of healing that doesn’t cause you to bring about the very thing you fear, as not being positive, but being unhappy and self-doubting is harmful to relationship with others.

I hope you can find a practical way to help yourself to find a more positive and happier approach to life, for your own sake and that of your wife. 🙂 I hope you can break the habits of negative self talk and of doubt and unhappiness. You do portray those things, so it isn’t an unsubstantiated perception of you…while I also am aware that there is so much more in persons’ lives than they can convey in an internet thread.

Bless you, and your wife,
Trish

I hope you read this.
Here is what happened to me. There is so much to tell you. First of all if you can contact
S-Anon.org, it took me a year to find them. Please just get in contact with someone there and tell your story. Your eyes will be opened. The reason I know it is what it is because I lived it and nobody can tell you what you need to know unless they have gone through it.
If you are skeptical it is an international program that leads many people to the catholic faith. But if offers hope and superior needed help for those who have been hurt by another s sexual behavior. It is the reaction that your wife had to your simple inquiry to the text. What she did is called redirection or deflection, and she acted like a child who just got caught stealing. That kind of behavior shows an explicit type of behavior that can be found in a person who is emotionally immature, definitely perfectly educated but acting like a 10 year old emotionally.
You will find the answers you are looking for. I am catholic and am in the Deaconate program and boy do I have a whopper of a story to tell to you. You can email me at detroitsanon@gmail.com or anyone else who thinks they need help. I know I have been vague but the brain plays tricks on you in the state you may be in. I know you will research what I said and will get back to me only on your terms. This is only a suggestion

Well let me say this. The wife’s explanation to the text sounded legitimate.
