How to develop patience?

Hi everyone! I guess the title says it all: how does one develop the virtue of patience? I tend to find myself getting frustrated/irritable easily.
 
Frequent Eucharist adoration (does not have to be exposed) and frequent confession.

These two things definitely work if you are determined to overcome the weakness of impatience.

Hi ribbit 👋 I’ve heard it said, over and over again… that if you pray for patience… God will send you opportunities to practice the virtue! 😉 That seems to be what’s happening with you. (voice of experience, here :rolleyes: ). Keep at it… practice makes perfect!

“InLights” advice to sit before Our Lord, in Adoration and frequent Confession… was excellent. It has helped me, tremendously. I will keep you in my prayers, too. God bless.
 
By graciously facing situations that make you impatient.

How you learn humility? By graciously accepting being humiliated.
 
I agree with previous posters and would add any Sacrament to which you can avail yourself (after confession, that is). I would also add prayer to Him, through the BVM, St. Michael, St. Raphael, your guardian angel, and St. Jerome. I struggle with this one a lot, too. 😦 Giving yourself a prudent penance anytime you are impatient may help, too.
 
Thank you for the replies. I’ve stopped adoration and ‘regular’ confession so starting that back up seems to be a good idea. Other than that, well, we fall, we get up, we fall, we get up, eh?

Hi, someone mentioned that if you ask then God will give it to you.

Well you may now find yourself in the thick of it with what I call people who will rub off on you very iritably. Like they will be the sand paper against your humanness.It is our humanness that wants us to move at our own pace. God will give you the opportunities to practice patience.
It will NOT come as a gift in a basket nor as a on the spot fix.
What you are asking of God is to be given a touch of His love deeper than the usual.
