Each religion has its own system. Praying to other spiritual beings or saints . is encouraged in Catholics. But in deut. 13. Does warn about this activity.
Their is no clear teaching by saint Paul of this belief system. But if it works for you . ok.

I’m afraid I don’t see the connection, unless you think that the “strange gods” refer to Saints. Which doesn’t make sense because the Saints would never present themselves as such, nor have any special powers of their own. What they do have of infinite value is their proximity to God (since they’re in Heaven) and prayers.

Am I correct to think that you believe that I’ve been taught incorrectly on the Communion of Saints?

No. You are taught methods of belief.to build on
Just as Pentecostal are taught methods
Baptists are taught methods
AOG are taught methods

If you find praying to Mary or saints yields results. OK good for you.

The prayers of A righteous person yield results. James 5:16.

Rev. 5:8. The saints in heaven bring the prayers of the saints on earth to God.
