I recently was on a engaged couples retreat, and the topic of NFP came up but not even the presenter knew much so i said NFP is the church response to the evil of contraception… so everybody was puzzled to my comment of contraception being evil…

how can someone address this in a gentle manner ???

Sounds like maybe the retreat is not following the requirements of the diocese regarding marriage prep:

diocs.org/DepartmentsMinistries/MarriageandFamilyLife.aspx

I suggest contacting the diocesan family life office and expressing your disappointment in the engaged retreat you attended and the lack of knowledge of those in charge of the retreat regarding NFP and the intrinsic evil of contraception.

This is the best CD I have found on the subject, it is by Lighthouse Catholic Media:

Contraception: Cracking the Myths

What I remember, that they did this study on girls who took the pill and girls who didn’t, that they had all the girls smell the shirts of 2 types of men: The Athletic Alpha Male, and your classic short, fat, receding hairline Couch-Potatoe. The girls on the Pill thought that the shirt of the Couch-Potatoe guy’s scent was irresistible and desired him and that the Alpha-Male’s scent was disgusting; and the girls that were not on the pill thought the shirt of the Alpha-Male was irresistible and that the Couch-Potatoe’s scent was disgusting. The Doctor went on to add, “This would explain why your on-the-pill daughters end up with those loser boy-friends”.

That made a lot of sense, and probably why Divorce is so popular these days.
If people followed proper Morality of Christian Practice, they wouldn’t end up in short marriages.

Plus there is a lot more that the Doctor offers on the benefits of avoiding the pill.

I loved this CD.
