How to explain the existence of Angels.

So I belong to a Young Adult Ministry in Hawthorne, CA. On the last session one of the topics we talked about was about angels. To my understandings angels and humans are two different beings. One of the core members does not believe in angels like that, she believes as she explained that angels are basically “humans doing good deeds for others”. Although that is an angelic action I do not believe that makes one an angel. She read from the Cathechism of the Catholic Church which I did not feel implicated what she explained. She mentioned she has a hard time believing in them for example Michael the Archangel and the rest of them are real.
