A local school district recently redid their Prom dress guidelines to say that “girls can not show excessive cleavage”. While discussing this story with my father, he commented that as a doctor he sees chests all the time. He said that we just made up this standard and whoever wants to drop it should.
I tried to explain that people are temped by certain types of dress and that this would certainly be magnified by women being topless.
He said too bad, people in Africa do it, what if you went there?
So, I’ve got a question but not the obvious one. My question is, how do you talk to your own father about morality? He really doesn’t care at times and it hurts the morality of our whole family.
For that matter, what’s a good method for telling him that the movies he watches are raunchy? RIght now when the movies gets bad my mom, my brother, and I get up and go in another room. I think he’s kinda caught on as he’s watching more westerns and we stay through those, but how do I broach this with my dad.
(to aid in suggestions, I’m 23 living in a very small home with my parents and 2 of my brothers: 21, 19)
