How to get a non-Catholic husband to attend mass?

I usually made an event of it. Saturday evening Mass then dinner. Or Sunday noon and then bruch. Food always works! LOL

My goal now is to make sure I have a crockpot dinner in or something easy so that we can have a nice lunch when we get home.

puzzleannie, all I have to say is that what you wrote was really rude and I am sorry that you took my post that way. I am not “on his back” about this as you stated. Thanks for making me feel like the nagging wife here. Not that I owe you an explanation, but for what is is worth, when we married, in the Church, his desire was (and still is) to become Catholic. I am just trying to be supportive that is all. I really have nothing more to say to you.

Thank you.
I did not ask for an explanation, I posed a rhetorical question in an effort go help you think through your situation.
you asked for opinions
please do not ask for opinions if you don’t want to hear them
it is not rude to offer an answer to a direct question. I gave you the respect of reading your post carefully and responding. if my response is not to your liking, so be it, but let us just lose the personal attacks, shall we.

I am sorry to say but even if puzzleannie is a meanie (😃 😃 😃 ) it is your original post that makes things about what you want and it does not appear that your husband has a true saying in this. It seems that now that you are planning to start a family things must align your way. In my opinion this is not the easiest way to bring someone to convert. I think that at this point he has a lot of things that are very important to him on his plate (larger family and religion). Rushing him on decisions about himself (religion) is not going to do anyone any good. Discernment can take a lot of time.
In my first post, I was simply stating what my desires were. Not once did I say that I was forcing him, pushing him, encouraging him, anything. I said that he wanted to be a part of the Church and at times he would not go. I was looking for ways to be supportive and not push him away. I was trying to express how I felt and look for some ideas that is all.

I am not sure how I attacked you personally, but I know that you were rude by saying to “get off of his back.” As I just posted, I am not on his back about this nor am I nagging and pushing him. I am being supportive and was looking for those that have been through this for suggestions. I thought that this would be a place that I would feel welcomed, but you have shown me that I may not be.

It is not that you have given your opinion, it is that you have made assumptions and chosen to respond the way that you did. Most responses, I felt were genuine, yours, I am not sure.

So for now, I am leaving the forums. Thanks for now allowing me more time for other things. I may come back one day, who knows.

To those that were so kind, I do appreciate it. Take care and may God bless you

Thank you.

Bye

Just wait until you have a child and then you will see how fast he will move to join the Church. 👍
