Hi everyone…

I’m not sure if this is the proper place to post or not, but here goes!

I have been having quite a hard time lately, plagued with insecurities, anxiety, panic attacks, depression, etc. I have also distanced myself away from God and the Church for quite some time and this probably has a lot to do with my recent feelings.

I would like to get back at it… But I feel so lost. I find myself constantly questioning religion. What can I do to get back?

I didn’t pay attention much when I was younger and find that I really don’t know all that much about the Bible. How can I learn it? What is the best way? I’d like a simple approach… Nothing overwhelming as I am already suffering from overwhelming feelings…

Thank you for your help and suggestions.

I would start with the Gospel of John. To me this the most inspiring gospel, with uplifting stories such as The Wedding at Cana, The Woman at the Well, The Man Born Blind and the Raising of Lazarus, just to name a few. Read this gospel slowly and enjoy its richness, and I hope (and pray) that it will inspire and revive you!

Thank you! 🙂 <3

Any recommendations on how to study the Gospel of John? I can just open up my Bible and start reading, but it’s really hard to me to understand things sometimes. Any suggestions on material to use along with the Bible? Thank you. 🙂

Leo Zanchettin wrote a series of devotional commentaries on the books of the New Testament. They’re pretty good, pretty simple, maybe you can check them out.
