How to guide learning challenged son who is interested in being a priest?

Really? If he’s interested in something, why not be encouraging? You don’t have to shove him down the path, but as a parent one can be supportive. He might lose interest later, but for now, there’s no harm in being positive and supportive.

BTW, my priest shared that his interest in the priesthood began at 9.
 
Oh, no, I meant to let go of worry about obstacles that are far in the future. Help him to find strategies to be the best student he can be right now, give him the best opportunities you can and let go of the rest as something between him and God.
 
Your son should be able to get accommodations for any disability-related issue in college. I would encourage you to look into that even now.

It’s always a good idea for him to keep his options open as far as religious pursuit. What he needs is a spiritual director.
 
My daughter first realized her Carmelite vocation at aged 7 or 8 when she “accidently” told a Carmelite monk she wanted to be a Carmelite nun. (It was the only think she could think of to say.) It never left her, and now she’s hoping to be living in Carmelite walls in a few short months.
