How to help my friend from being a narcissist

You need to talk to a priest face to face. This is not a matter for the internet or for an internet priest to decide.

You are talking about discernment of spirits and you want to change someone else. This is a RED FLAG. God rarely calls us to do both and even rarer still without direct spiritual guidance.

  2. Talk to a priest about him
  3. Stop dating him (you’re still referring to him as “your new boyfriend”) because it honestly sounds like you’re not only not on the same page, you’re not even reading from the same book.
 
You are not speaking with a priest here at CAF.
Find one in real life and say exactly what you have said here.
 
True, diagnosed narcissism (by a psychiatrist) is one of the hardest conditions to treat.
At this point in time, the only “treatment” is for the people around him to set very firm, and unwavering boundaries around his behavior, and WALK AWAY when he violates those boundaries.
You can’t rescue him.
You can’t fix him.
Your best bet is to never date a narcissist.
You must pray, but I wouldn’t even tell him you’re doing that because he could twist it around and throw it back in your face.
