How do you tell when a demon is attacking you or discern if you are being seriously tested?

Within the past two weeks I’ve had two cars break down, both on a weekend, one of which caused me to miss Mass. Luckily my brother came back from vacation and we just fixed the other one today.
One of my coworkers has it in for me and is doing everything within his power to get me fired or mad enough at him to quit. I’ve been trying to control my anger toward him and pray but I lose it several times a day.
There’s other small things that went wrong that have been piling up but ive been able to handle too. This is affecting my depression which I’ve kept controlled for years. I haven’t been at peace in awhile.

Am I making a bigger deal out of this than is necessary or is there a spiritual dimension to it?

To me it is just a string of bad luck. Do your best to fix these situations and move on.
I don’t get the modern tendency to see so-called “demons” everywhere. Where in the world does that come from?

Friend,
It sounds like it is possible you are under spiritual attack, for remember, there are no coicidences in the spiritual life,

A guy in my country who is in the catholic deliverance ministry (who has a catholic charismatic religious order priest spiritual director who travels Ireland in the deliverance ministry) has written a free online book about how person should pray for deliverance if they feel they are under spiritual attack:

Go to

www.larrycummins.ie

And read online for free, or download his two free books (which tell of his experience in the catholic deliverance ministry, and especially read the prayers at the end of his two books, which were written by Fr Robert De Grandis, who was a famous priest in the healing ministry and EWTN guest speaker),

A powerful book to read on deliverance is:
‘The Miracle Ship,’ by Brian O’ Hare (it is available from amazon.com to buy paperback, or to download onto the kindle app on your phone or laptop or ipad),

Basically:
This co worker trying to get you fired,
You NEED to pray against this,
Pray often during the day in faith: ‘In the Name of Jesus, No weapon formed against me by my co worker … (mention his name) … shall prosper.’

Nb: in your workplace, leave a BLESSED rosary beads, in public display, such as on your desk.
Wear a blessed brown scapular or miraculous medal, carry a tiny little bottle of holy water to work in a drinking water bottle, and if you get the chance when unnoticed, sprinkle a little in the workplace. Holy water has exorcism prayers on it.

The bible says, ‘He who hates his brother, is guilty of murder.’ This guy is wishing you a lot of hate, a lot of pain, a lot of bad luck, and catholic priests/ laypeople in the deliverance / exorcism ministry have said; cursing another person can oftentimes manifest itself in demonic oppression, The bible does say; ‘I will bless those you bless, and curse those you curse.’
This guy is certainly not blessing you, quite the opposite.

Pray the Saint Michael prayer also each day.

And pray for your co workers deliverance from evil,

This is some of the advice from those two catholic books I have mentioned,

Both of those catholic laypeople in the deliverance ministry mention: severe hatred/ jealousy/ envy/ wishing bad luck on a person, does bring spiritual forces against that person,
Loving someone brings God’s love to a person,
Hating someone brings demonic forces against that person,

Both of those authors I mentioned have experience of people having strings of seriously bad luck because a co worker or relative was sinfully envious/ jealous of them.

Follow the above prayers.
Especially on the free larrycummins website, pray each day the Prayer in his book for ‘Prayers for Deliverance/ Spiritual Protection.’

(The advice works 100%, Prayer works!!! )

Is there a spiritual dimension to it? Probably yes.

Are demons involved? Could be, yes. You may be triggering demons attached to others, by the way, such as your angry coworker, not necessarily your own demons.

If the pattern continues, and especially if it triggers your depression and affects your peace, I would recommend to try to get out of the situation permanently. That could mean big changes, I know, such as looking for another job. So just see if it continues first. If it does, try to get out or away from it. Don’t “stick with it” hoping that it’ll get better, because that could get pretty hard on you.

VThe trick is not to notice - when it starts -
A few inconspicuous bad luck things in a row …happen.
You have to notice a vibe change - in the air -
Just keep your wits about you - remain calm -
And show - no - emotion !

Remember - we are in - constant - warfare.
Have a Holy blessed necklace on -
Have Holy water / oil - around
Maybe carry a rosary in your pocket -
Say - within - your prayers -
But stay cool !

Any show of anger or fear - is not good…
it’s like being confronted by a junkyard dog …

Each day also pray: ‘I claim the protection of the precious blood of Jesus upon myself, my family, friends, relatives, acquaintances, and our places, possessions and sources of supply.’

Satan cannot harm anything that is covered in Jesus precious blood. Remember the last curse on Egypt didn’t fall on the Israelites whose doors were covered with the blood of the Paschal Lamb

‘Perfect love casts out all fear.’

‘Lord even the demons leave when we use your Name.’

‘Greater is Jesus who is in me, than the spirit which is in the world.’

Do not fear. Say the name Jesus in your thoughts and any evil spirit must immediately leave

tell your boss the situation with the co worker

Tell a friend/ parent.

Could you change jobs?

Not really an option to quit or change jobs. I finally got to top pay and get my vacation in a few months after working a year and a half straight (5 days a week, not 7). I also just started training to cover other positions in case they call in. It’s a good way to move into management.

It’s a no rehire job so I’d be burning a bridge big time.

No need to quit. Stick to your guns.
Keep the all important journal.
Document things.

The OP is NOT seing demons everywhere. He is asking if he could be under spiritual attack which is a VERY good question.

Personally, I can’t answer if he is under attack of not, but I do think a lot of people have posted some great prayers and resources that the OP should look into

Satan has to have permission to attack, which is not to say that he doesn’t get that permission from time to time. God allows this to happen, sometimes… to knock us off of the habit of coasting, of being lukewarm, rid us of some pride or vice that is creeping in, or simply to get us to focus on the right things.

Spend some time discerning this, but use this time to focus on the basics. Confession, Mass, prayer. Don’t sweat it, thank God for the redemptive suffering and offer it up. Relax, do some extra praying, and consider praying the Litany of Humility. Despair is the devil’s favorite weapon. Don’t give into it, instead, rejoice in the fact that your cross is something that you can handle, and will make you stronger and happier when the clouds have passed.

To me, it sounds like what I call a “rough patch” in life. When these things happen to me, I tend to try to remember that saying about “Whatever doesn’t kill me will make me stronger”.

I know “rough patches” are difficult, especially if you are prone to depression. Be sure to self-care by eating right, getting enough rest, and trying to get a little fresh air and exercise each day. Of course I am sure you already know that. Sometimes what helps me is to reflect back on previous rough patches and remember they were temporary and I survived them. I am older, so I have had many.

I will pray for you that things settle down for you and you are able to enjoy some peace.

Last week, a friend of mine caught a fever from drinking, and he hung himself. This is definitely the work of demons.
When on fever, the alcoholics delusional, they frequently see demons, and doing desperate things being beside themselves.

I once owned a Ford Taurus that would break down at the moments you most needed a car. Although the car was paid for, the monthly repairs were equal to a car payment.

Once, while driving to an important meeting, the main drive belt broke. A piece of the belt then flew into the alternator. That caused my battery to overload and start to boil. Then, before I could pull out of traffic, the car overheated and the engine blew a head gasket.

All of this happened in under a minute. My mechanic told me he thought the car was cursed. He wasn’t joking. He was from a small village in Lebanon and firmly believed evil spirits were the cause of such problems. I’ve never hated a car before. But I truly hated that one. I was living in South Florida and used to have fantasies of driving it into the everglades and watching it sink. But, I traded it in instead. That very day, I bought a new Toyota. I’ve only owned Toyota’s since then and they have been wonderful.

I doubt a demon is the cause of your troubles, but you might be able to make some changes so your situation is improved. If you can’t change the big things now, start with the smaller ones. That often helps people feel empowered. Feeling empowered will lift your depression for sure.

Going from a Ford Tortoise breaking down to owning a Toyota that was reliable certainly has nothing do with the supernatural. That’s just common sense. 🤣

Y’know the acronym for FORD? (Found On Road Dead)
