Hi,
I’m looking for any solid advice from those who are well-versed in leading Praise & Worship music.
I’ve been going to Catholic Underground Holy Hours and recently met some students from Franciscan University. I have been feeling inspired by the Holy Spirit to start a Holy Hour once a month at my parish with Praise & Worship music (I’m going to run this idea by my pastor this week).
But I’ve never led anything like this. I myself sing play guitar, my boyfriend also sings and plays guitar, I know a lot of musically-talented people from my young adult group. So it is possible.
However, not a lot of people in our group have really encountered praise and worship like this. I’m sure it’s all kind of new to them, as it still is to me. You know we Catholics are not used to the charismatic movement thingy
lol (I myself have slowly been opening up to this.)
So maybe if you can answer specific questions: What would my role as leader entail? How to practice to get the band members to open up? How to lead so we are all on the same page and not to lose other members? How to introduce people to this new type of worship? (I’m mostly concerned right now about bringing the whole band onto the same page, but any advice would do.)
Please keep this in your prayers and thank you!
