How to live the celibacy in daily life

Does anybody have some advice or information from the internet about how to live the celibacy as a normal person. I am not a monk or a priest. What can help me ? Thank you !šŸ‘
 
Are you talking about chastity? ā€˜Celibacyā€™ refers to being unmarriedā€¦ :confused:

Thereā€™s a book by Tan books called Love for the Single Life (or something along those lines) that has very good counsel for those who wish to commit themselves to celibacy for the sake of the kingdom

Hello there- there is also a book by Fr. Benedict Groeschel called The Courage to be Chaste. It is a short read but a good one. Chastity for the single person is certainly a tough endeavor isnā€™t it? But it can be done and I have to believe God wants to bless you with chastity. Keep an active prayer life, feast on the Eucharist to make you strong, and consistently and repeatedly remember that you can do all things through Christ who gives you strength. We are all weak, yet when we trust in Christ we are strong, and this certainly involves the practice of chastity. No one becomes chaste by sheer will power. God bless you.

A very good book I definitely recommend is ā€œThe Courage to Be Chasteā€ by Fr. Benedict Groeschel. It focuses on the ā€œsingle vocationā€ and how to live it joyously with commitment to others. It dispels a lot of the myths that singleness necessarily means loneliness. If the single life gets you down, it also gives you a good method of psychological analysis to determine the source of your difficulties when attempting to live chaste. These things usually have a psychological genesis.

ā€“updateā€¦ I just now read the thread and saw someone else recommended this. Definitely check it out!
